This page allows you to modify the details of the MCR (maintenance change request) or the modification document selected in the “Selection of Maintenance Change Request” page . Tell me more
Select the hyperlinked MCR number in the multiline of the “Select Maintenance Change Request” page.
The “Edit Maintenance Change Request” page appears.
Note: The MCR # must be of “Fresh” or “Confirmed” status. The system retrieves the MCR details of Confirmed status as well.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date field is displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
The system displays the following fields in the “MCR Identification Details” group box: |

The number identifying the MCR for which the details are to be modified. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the MCR, if any. The system retrieves the latest Revision # of “Fresh” or “Confirmed” status. |

The textual description of the maintenance change request (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory. |

Status |
The status of the MCR, or the MCR and revision number combination, for which the details are to be modified. The system displays “Fresh” in this field. |
Enter the following fields:
Issue Date |
The date on which the maintenance change request is issued (Date Format). Mandatory. |
Receipt Date |
The date on which the maintenance change request is received into the airline operator’s records (Date Format). Mandatory. |
Eff. From Date |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the level at which the From Date is effective. The system lists the following values:

The date from which the maintenance change request is effective (Date format). This date should not be earlier than the issue date. Note: This field is enabled only if the drop-down value is selected as ‘Eng. Doc. Level’. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the user-defined status for the maintenance change request. The system lists all the active quick codes that are of type “MCR User Status” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. If you do not wish to specify the user status you can leave this field blank. |
Reason For Revision |
The reason for the revision of MCR (Alphanumeric, 2000). This is displayed for a “Revised” MCR. |
External Ref. # |
The reference assigned to the MCR based on external source documents, such as SB or AD. |

Use the drop-down list box to modify the user-defined reason category for the MCR. The system lists all the active quick codes that are of type “Reason Category” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. If you do not wish to specify the reason category, leave this field blank. |
Mandatory? |
Indicates whether the engineering change must be effectively executed on the part # - serial # on which the MCR is applicable. The drop-down list box displays No and Yes. Note: This field displays no value, if the engineering document has no PCR reference. However, if the engineering order was created based on PCR, the field displays the value recorded in the PCR, which you can update. |
Reliability Impact? |
Indicates whether the part # - serial # impacted by the engineering change must be taken into consideration for component reliability analysis. The drop-down list box displays No and Yes. Note: This field displays no value, if the engineering document has no PCR reference. However, if the engineering order was created based on PCR, the field displays the value recorded in the PCR, which you can update. |
User Defined 1 |
Use the drop-down to select a user-defined value for the MCR. The drop-down list box displays the 'Active' quick codes defined under the quick code type 'User Defined 1' in the Create Quick Codes / Edit Quick Codes screen of MCR. |

Doc Type and the entity “All-Eng-Doc” is set as ‘2’ in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master. In addition, this field will be set to ‘Required’ by default, if “Applicability of Impact assessment for MCR” is set as ‘2’. |

The total time estimated for executing the modification recommended in the MCR (Decimal). |
Use the drop-down list box provided alongside, to specify the unit of measurement for the time allotted for the execution of the MCR. The system lists the options “Hours”, “Minutes” and “Days” and sets the field to “Hours” by default. |

The total man-hours estimated for executing the modification (Decimal). |
Priority |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the priority set for the MCR. When the “Get Details” pushbutton is clicked, the system loads this list box with all the priority descriptions defined in the “Create Priority Numbers” activity of the “Common Master” business component. And, the system sets this field to the priority description that is already set for the modified source document type (in the “Add MCR Documents Information” activity of the “Common Master” business component). |
Enter the following details in the “Warranty Information” group box:
Warranty Coverage |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the warranty coverage of the “Component”, “Engine” or “Aircraft”. The system provides the following options:
By default, the system displays the warranty coverage set for the Maintenance Change Request and Revision number combination while the change request is being created. |
Warranty Details |
The warranty details pertaining to the “Component”, “Engine” or “Aircraft” (Alphanumeric, 2000). By default, the system displays the warranty details specified during the creation of the Change Request. |
Warranty Applicability |
Indicates the applicability of the warranty. The system provides the following check boxes:
By default, the check boxes set for the Maintenance Change Request and Revision number combination are checked while the change request is being created. |
Note: Any one of the check boxes under “Warranty Applicability” must be selected, if the warranty coverage is selected as “Claimable”. The check boxes must not be selected, if the warranty coverage is set to “Non-Claimable”.
Enter the following field in the “Contact Details” group box:
Source Category |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the category to which the source that issued the MCR belongs. The system lists all the quick codes of type “MCR Source Category” defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity If you do not wish to specify the source category, leave this field blank. |

Reg. Authority’s Address |
The address of the regulatory authority who issued / approved the MCR (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Enter the following fields in the “Contact Details” group box:
Manufacturer Address |
The address of the OEM or the supplier who issued the MCR (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Contact Person |
The name of the person who is responsible for the MCR issued by the OEM / Supplier / Regulatory authority (Alphanumeric, 80). |
Work Phone # |
The phone number of the contact person (Alphanumeric, 30). |
The email ID of the contact person (Alphanumeric, 30). |
Enter the following field in the “Model Effectivity” multiline, if you wish to modify the aircraft models for which the MCR is applicable:
Aircraft Model # |
The number identifying the aircraft model on which the MCR must be executed (Alphanumeric, 20). Ensure that the model number is already defined in the “Aircraft“ business component and is in “Active” status. The model number should be unique in the multiline. Process parameter dependency: If the process parameter “Allow definition of Aircraft Model # for Component / Engine applicable MCR?” under the entity type “Eng. Doc. Type” and entity “All Eng. Doc” in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Masters is 1, the system allows you to specify the aircraft model # for MCR documents regardless of applicability. However, if the process parameter is 0, aircraft model # can be specified for MCR documents applicable to 'Aircraft' only. Help facility available. |
Note: If you add a new model in the multiline, ensure that all tasks (Existing / Improvised) associated to the MCR are applicable for this model.
When you delete a model from the multiline, the system deletes all the tasks associated to the models.
Reference Date Basis |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the Reference Date basis for the effective from date of the Aircraft Model. The system lists the values “Induction Date”, “Operational Date” and “Manufactured Date” along with a blank value. |
Eff. From Date |
The date from which the Aircraft Model # is effective. |
Note: The “Reference Date Basis’ and ‘Eff. From Date’ fields appear only if the ‘Eff. From Date’ is selected as “Maint. Obj. Level”.
The system displays the following fields in the “Model Effectivity” multiline:

The textual description of the aircraft model. |
Enter the following field in the "Document Attachment Details" group box:
File Name |
The file name of the source document (Alphanumeric, 50). Help facility available. |
Select the “View File” link provided alongside to view the file details.
Click the “Edit MCR” pushbutton to update the modified details of the MCR.
Note: The system updates the details of the modified MCR and retains the status as “Fresh”. If the existing Status of the MCR is “Fresh”, the system retains the status as “Fresh”. If the existing Status of the MCR is “Confirmed”, the system updates the Status to “Fresh”.
Click the “Confirm MCR” pushbutton to confirm the MCR.
Note: The system ensures the MCR and Revision # combination is of “Fresh” status
The system sets the status of the selected MCR as “Confirmed”.
Note: This action is workflow-enabled. You can configure further processing of this document in the "Workflow Management" business component.
If there is a lower revision available for the MCR, in “Confirmed” status, then the status of the lower revision becomes “Revised” on clicking the “Confirm” pushbutton.
Click the “Cancel MCR” pushbutton to cancel the MCR.
The system displays the following field:

Note: The Edit Advanced Part Effectivity page and the Edit Recommended Part Effectivity page are mutually exclusive of each other. The value set for the process parameter ‘Enable Advanced Part Effectivity for MCR?’ under the entity type Eng. Doc. Type and the entity All Eng. Doc in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master will decide which of the two links is available in the Create Maintenance Change Request, Edit Maintenance Change Request, Revise Maintenance Change Request and View Advanced Part Effectivity pages. The following table illustrates the condition in which the links will appear in the aforesaid pages.

Editing MCR details – An overview
This page allows you to modify the details of the MCR (maintenance change request) or the modification document selected in the “Selection of Maintenance Change Request” page. Details of the MCR such as the subject, user status, issue date, receipt date, applicability, MCR class, effectivity type, priority description, ATA chapter number, reason category, reason, background information, consequences and action to be performed can be modified. You can also modify the source document details, execution details, and contact details of the MCR. The details of the aircraft model to which the MCR is applicable can also be modified.
