This page allows you to enter the details of such tools for a specific applicability group or for the entire MCR .  Tell me more

The “Edit New Tool Requirement” page appears.

The system displays the following fields in the “MCR Details” group box:

MCR #

The number identifying the MCR for which you wish to define the new tool requirement details.

Revision #

The revision number of the MCR.

Subject

The textual description of the MCR.

Source Doc Type

The type of the source document to which the MCR belongs.

Part Identifier

The identifier of the part as defined in the “Create Maintenance Change Request” activity, which could be one of the following:

 
  • Internal - indicates that the MCR must be executed on the part which is already available with the operator. This internal part is already defined in the "Create Parts Main Information" activity of the "Part Administration" business component

 
  • Supplier - indicates that the MCR must be executed on the part supplied by the supplier. This part can be a new part or an alternate part that is defined in the "Maintain Alternate Part Nos" activity of the "Part Administration" business component

Applicability Group #

Use the drop-down list box to select the group of aircraft, component or engine for which the MCR is applicable. The system lists the group numbers created in the “Aircraft Effectivity” page if the MCR is applicable for “Aircraft” or the group numbers defined in the “Component Effectivity” page if the MCR is applicable for “Component” or “Engine”.

Leave this field blank, if you wish to enter the new tool requirement details with respect to the MCR and revision number combination.

The system displays the multiline fields if the new tool requirement details have already been defined for the applicability group.

Tool Part #

The number identifying the part number of the new tool required to execute the MCR (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. Ensure that the part number is unique in the multiline. Once entered, this field cannot be modified.

Note: If you have already defined the new tool requirement details for a particular applicability group, then ensure that the tool part number is not defined across the applicability groups.

Description

The description of the new tool (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory.

Note: For an internal tool part that has already been defined, if you have not entered the description, the system fills in the description from the “Part Administration” business component, on clicking the “Edit New Tools” pushbutton. For a part supplied by the supplier, the system fills in the description of the equivalent part number defined in the “Part Administration” business component. If the part supplied is new, entry of part description is mandatory.

Est Nos

The number of new tools estimated to execute the MCR (Integer). Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive.

Currency

Use the drop-down list box to select the currency for the unit price. The system lists all the active currency codes defined in the “Currency” business component. The system sets this field to the base currency to which the login organizational unit is associated.

Unit Price

The unit price of the tool (Decimal). Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive.

Supplier Name

The name of the supplier from whom the tool can be purchased (Alphanumeric, 45).

Time Unit

Use the drop-down list box to specify the time unit for purchasing the tool. The system lists the options, “Days”, “Weeks”, “Months” and “Years”.

Purchase Lead Time

The time required for purchasing the tool (Decimal).

Special Tools Details

Edit MCR - A summary of the activity

The execution of the MCR may require new tools, which are not provided by the operator. This page allows you to enter the details of such tools for a specific applicability group or for the entire MCR. You can specify the tool part number, the description, the estimated number of tools required for executing the MCR, the currency, the unit price of the tool, name of the supplier, time unit and the time required to purchase the tool.
