Using Online Help

This page allows you to enter the details of the aircraft on which the MCR must be executed.  Tell me more

The “Edit Recommended Aircraft Effectivity” page appears.

The system displays the following fields in the “MCR Details” group box:

MCR #

The number identifying the MCR for which the aircraft effectivity details must be defined.

Revision #

The revision number of the MCR.

Subject

The textual description of the MCR.

Zoom facility available

Source Doc Type

The type of the source document to which the MCR belongs.

Manufacturer #

The manufacturer of the aircraft.

Aircraft Identifier Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type by which the aircraft is identified. The system lists the following options:

  • Aircraft Reg # – Select this option to indicate that the aircraft registration number identifies the aircraft on which the MCR execution should take place

  • Manufacturer Serial #- Select this option to indicate that the manufacturer serial number identifies the aircraft on which the MCR execution should take place.

  • Variable Tab # - Select this option to indicate that the variable tab number identifies the aircraft on which the MCR execution should take place

  • Tail # - Select this option to indicate that the tail number identifies the aircraft on which the MCR execution should take place.

The system displays the multiline fields if the aircraft effectivity details have already been defined for the MCR.

From Aircraft Identifier #

The starting aircraft identifier in the range of aircraft identifiers for which the MCR is applicable (Alphanumeric, 15). Mandatory. Ensure that the number is unique in the multiline. Once entered, this field cannot be modified.

To Aircraft Identifier #

The ending aircraft identifier in the range of aircraft identifiers for which the MCR is applicable (Alphanumeric, 15). Mandatory. Ensure that the number is unique in the multiline. Once entered, this field cannot be modified

Help facility available

Note: For example, if the MCR must be executed on all the aircraft starting from the variable tab number “PT126” to “PT138”, then you can enter “PT126” in the “From Aircraft Identifier #” field and “PT138” in the “To Aircraft Identifier #” field.

Ensure that the range of aircraft identifiers are not overlapping.

Applicability Group #

The number identifying the group to which the set of aircraft on which the MCR must be executed belongs (Integer). Mandatory. Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive. For example, a set of aircraft with variable tab numbers ranging from “PT126” to “PT138” and “PT906” to “PT930” can belong to applicability group “1”. The tab numbers from “PW411” to “PW417” and “PW441” to “PW450” can belong to applicability group “2”.

Note: While entering other relevant details for the MCR, you can refer to this applicability group number, to indicate the set of aircraft for which the compliance details, configuration changes, resources required, weight and balance details etc. are applicable.

Reference Date Basis

Use the drop-down list box to specify the Reference Date basis for the effective from date of the Aircraft. The system lists the values “Induction Date”, “Operational Date” and “Manufactured Date” along with a blank value.

Eff. From Date

The date from which the Aircraft # is effective.

Note: The “Reference Date Basis’ and ‘Eff. From Date’ fields appear only if the screen is launched for an MCR # whose Eff. From Date is set as 'Maint. Obj. Level'.

Defining aircraft effectivity for the MCR – An overview

Edit MCR - A summary of the activity

You can enter the details of the aircraft on which the MCR must be executed, in this page. You can enter the details only for the MCR for which the applicability is specified as “Aircraft” in the “Create MCR” activity. You can specify a group of aircraft for which the MCR is applicable. The system allows you to group aircraft based on specific aircraft identifier types given below:

You can select an aircraft identifier type and enter the range of aircraft identifiers to be grouped under a specific group number. For example, to group aircraft based on their variable tab number, you can enter the tab numbers of the aircraft for which the MCR is applicable and associate it to an applicability group number as illustrated in the table below:

Aircraft Identifier # (Variable Tab number)

Applicability Group number

PT126 – PT138

1

PT906 – PT930

2

PW411 – PW417

2

PW441 – PW450

1

In the above example, the MCR will be executed on Group 1 and Group 2 aircraft, for the variable tab numbers specified in the table.

While entering other relevant details for the MCR, you can refer to this applicability group number, to indicate the group of aircraft for which the compliance details, configuration changes, resources required, weight and balance details etc. are applicable.

Specify the aircraft for which the MCR is applicable

You can specify the aircraft for which the MCR is applicable and group them under the applicability group. You can enter the aircraft identifier (Aircraft Reg. #, Manufacturer Serial #, variable tab number or the tail number) and specify the applicability group number.
