Specifying kit composition details for the MCR
This page allows you to define the kit composition details for the kit part numbers defined for the MCR . Tell me more
Select the “Edit Kit Part Composition Details” link at the bottom of the “Edit Kits Requirement Information” page.
The “Edit Kit Composition Information” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “MCR Details” group box:
MCR # |
The number identifying the MCR for which you wish to specify the kit composition details. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the MCR, if any. |
Subject |
The textual description of the MCR. |
Source Doc Type |
The type of the source document to which the MCR belongs. |
Part Identifier |
The identifier of the part, which could be “Internal” or “External”. |
Enter the following field in the “Kit Part Details” group box:
Kit Part # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the kit part for which you wish to define the kit composition details. The system lists all the kit part numbers that are defined for MCR across applicability groups, in the “Kit Requirement Information” page. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the kit composition details that have already been defined for the selected kit part number.
Enter the following field:
Default Stock UOM |
Check this box if you wish to specify the stock UOM for the part numbers. If this box is checked the system saves the stock UOM defined for the part in the “Part Administration” business component on clicking the “Edit Kit Information” pushbutton. |
The system displays the multiline fields if the kit composition details have already been defined for the kit part.
Enter the following fields in the “Part Details” multiline to add parts:
Part # |
The part number present in the kit for carrying out the modification specified in the MCR (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. Ensure that the part number is unique in the multiline. Once entered, this field cannot be modified. Help facility available. |
Description |
The textual description of the part (Alphanumeric, 150). Data entry in this field is mandatory if the part is not already defined in the “Part” business component. |
Note: For an internal part that has already been defined, if you have not entered the description, the system fills in the description from the “Part” business component, on clicking the “Edit Kit Composition” pushbutton. For a part supplied by the supplier, the system fills in the description of the equivalent part number defined in the “Part” business component. If the part supplied is new, entry of part description is mandatory.
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement for the part. The system lists all the active UOM codes defined in the “UOM” business component. Selection of value in this field is mandatory if you have entered the part number or quantity and not checked the “Default Stock UOM” box. |
Quantity |
The total number of the parts present in the kit (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive. |
Check the box in the "Select" column of the multiline to mark the part for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the part selected in the multiline.
Click the “Edit Kit Composition Details” pushbutton to update the kit composition details for the selected kit part.
Specifying kit composition details for the MCR – An overview
This page allows you to define the kit composition details for the kit part numbers defined for the MCR. A kit comprises of part numbers that are helpful in executing the task specified in the MCR. In this page, you can specify the details of the part numbers present in the kit. The part number, its description, unit of measurement for the part and the number of parts required for executing the MCR can be specified. You are also provided with the option of specifying the default Stock UOM defined for the parts in the “Part Administration” business component.

You can enter the details of the parts that comprise the kit needed for MCR execution. You can select the kit part and enter the part details.
Select the kit part number in the “Kit Part” drop-down list box.
Enter the details of the parts comprising the kit in the “Part Details” multiline.
