Select the “Edit Eng. Doc” link in the “Select Engineering Document” page. Alternatively, click the hyperlinked Engineering document number in the multiline of the same page.

The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields appear in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |

User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the user status of the engineering document. The system lists all the active quick codes that are of type “Eng. Doc- User Status” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. If you do not wish to specify the user status, you can leave this field blank. |
Subject |
The textual description of the engineering document. (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter on which the engineering document. must be executed (Alphanumeric, 16). Mandatory. The ATA chapter number should be in “Active” status in the “Aircraft” business component. Help facility available. |
Exe. Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the execution type. The valid options are “Major” and “Minor”. |
Ref. Doc. Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the Reference Document type. The system lists the Reference Document Type values of “Active” status as defined in the interacting “Common Master” business component. |

A unique number identifying the reference document (Alphanumeric,40). |
Enter the following in the “Other Details” group box:
Applicability |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the engineering document is applicable for an “Aircraft”, “Engine” or a “Component”. |
Note: You can modify the engineering document applicability only when the effectivity details are not specified.
Priority |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the priority for the engineering document.. The system lists all the priority descriptions defined in the “Create Priority Numbers” activity of the “Common Masters” business component. On selecting the Source Doc Type, the system defaults the Priority field with the value set for the corresponding Source Doc Type in the interacting “Common Master” business component. |

Use the drop-down list box to select the execution action. The valid options are "Required" and "Not Required". The system displays the value “Required” by default. |
Eng. Doc Type |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the type of the engineering document. The system provides the following options: |

Note: The system ensures the Schedule Type is set to “One Time”, if the Eng. Doc Type Attribute for "Tracking Required" is set to "No" in the interacting “Common Master” business component for the “Eng. Doc Type”.

Use the drop-down list box to modify the category of the engineering document. The system lists all the active quick codes that are of type “Eng. Doc - Category” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. If you do not wish to specify the category, you can leave this field blank |

Action on Rev. Effectivity |
Indicates the option for copying the aircraft or component effectivity details of the engineering document from the previous revision to the new revision number. The system displays one of the following:
If the engineering document has been revised, the system displays the value set in the current revision number of the engineering document. If the engineering document has not yet been revised, the system displays “None”. |
Authorization Status |
The authorization status of the engineering document, which could be “Pending” or “Authorization Not Required”.

The total time estimated for completing the engineering document (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive. Use the drop-down list box provided alongside, to specify the unit of measurement for the time allotted for the engineering document. The system displays the options “Minutes”, “Hours” and “Days”. |
Est. Man Hrs. |
The total man-hours estimated for “Skill” type resources to execute the engineering document. (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive. |
On-Wing |
Check this box to indicate that the change can be performed when the part is fitted to the aircraft. |
Direct Execution |
The checkbox is selected if “Eng. Doc Type Attribute” for "Tracking Required" is set as "No" in the interacting “Common Master” business component for the “Eng. Doc Type”. However, the checkbox is deselected if “Tracking Required” value is set to “Yes”. |
Follow Up Action Reqd. |
Check this box to indicate that follow-up action is required after executing the engineering document. |
Generate PR Automatically |
Check this box to generate the purchase request during the release of the engineering document, for the part specified in the “Plan Material Requirements” page. |

Note: The system calculates the required quantity of parts, by multiplying the number of maintenance objects (maintained by individual maintenance bases) and the quantity identified for each part in the engineering document.
Regularization |
Check this box, if the changes suggested in the engineering document can be complied, while closing the engineering document. Uncheck the box, if the changes suggested in the engineering document can be complied, while closing the work orders. |
Mod Status # |
The modification status number of the engineering document (Alphanumeric, 15). |
Test Flight Required |
Use the drop-down box and set the field to “Yes”, if a trial run is required for the aircraft, after the changes are carried out. |

The cost of the part (Integer). Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive. |

Any other cost details to record the budgetary information (Integer). Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive. |
Total Cost |
The system displays the Total Cost as the sum of part cost, resource cost, kit cost and other cost, if no value is entered (Integer). Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive. |
Recurring Cost |
The recurring cost incurred for the engineering document (Integer).Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive |
Budget Remarks |
Any remarks pertaining to the budgetary information (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Enter the following fields in the “Warranty Information” group box:
Warranty Coverage |
Use the dropdown list box to specify the warranty coverage of the Component, Engine or Aircraft The system lists the options “Claimable” or “Non-Claimable”.
By default, the system displays the value saved for the reference “Eng. Doc #” and “Revision #” combination on page launch. |
Warranty Applicability |
Indicates the applicability of the warranty. The system provides the following check boxes:

Note: The system retrieves the corresponding parameters UOM for the above fields. The parameters for the aircraft weight and moment are identified in the “Set Base Parameters” activity of the “Aircraft” business component.

The date from which the MCR is effective. |
Note: If the FCD is created based on the MCR, the corresponding MCR number will appear in the “MCR #” field.

The name of the file that you wish to attach to the engineering document (Alphanumeric, 50). This can be the document that contains information regarding engineering document modification or any other document with respect to engineering document. Help facility available. |

Click the “Edit Eng Doc ” pushbutton to update the modified details of the engineering document.
The system updates the status of the engineering document to “Fresh”.
Note: This action is workflow-enabled. Notification messages can be sent as per the settings you have defined in the "Workflow Management" business component.
The system ensures the following:.
If “Direct Execution” check box is selected, you must have selected the value as “Required” from the “Exe Action ?” drop-down list box for the Eng. Doc # and Revision # combination.
The system performs the following:
Deletes the serial number details existing in the “Edit Serial No Effectivity” page based on the value specified in the "Serial # Change?” field in the "Edit Serial Effectivity" page:
If the value specified in the "Serial # Change?” field is “Specific” or “Append Mod Status#”, and if,
"On-Wing" flag is checked
"Schedule Type" for the engineering document with applicability “Component” or “Engine”, is changed to “Recurring".
If the value specified in the "Serial # Change?” field is “Append Mod Status #” and if no value is specified in the "Mod Status #” field for the engineering document with applicability “Engine” or “Component".
Re-updates the “New serial #” specified in the “Edit Serial No Effectivity” page, by adding the value in the “Mod Status #” field with the existing serial number for the components, if the value specified in the "Serial # Change?” field in the “Edit Serial Effectivity” page is “Append Mod Status#” and if the value specified in the "Mod Status #” field for the engineering document with applicability “Engine” or “Component” is modified.
Click the “Cancel Eng Doc” pushbutton to cancel the engineering document.
The system sets the status of the engineering document to “Cancelled”. If new task(s) and/or part(s) defined in the “Cancelled” engineering document (s), are referred in other “Fresh” engineering document (s), the system classifies the task(s) and/or part(s) as “New”, in one of the “Fresh” engineering document (s).
To proceed, carry out the following:
Select the “Edit Aircraft Effectivity” link at the bottom of the page to modify the aircraft effectivity details for the engineering document.
Select the “Edit Part Number Effectivity” link at the bottom of the page to modify the part effectivity details of the engineering document.
Select the “Edit Task Details” link at the bottom of the page to modify the details of the tasks to be performed during engineering document execution.
Select the “Edit Aircraft Mod # Effectivity” link at the bottom of the page to record the details of modification done to the aircraft.
Select the “Edit Schedule Information” link at the bottom of the page to modify the periodicity details for the engineering document.
Select the “Initialize Eng. Doc. Schedules” link at the bottom of the page to initialize engineering schedules.
Select the “Edit Configuration Change Details” link at the bottom of the page to edit the configuration change information for the engineering document.
Select the “Confirm New Parts Requirements” link at the bottom of the page to specify the new parts that are required for executing the engineering document.
Select the “Plan Material Requirements” link at the bottom of the page to specify the parts for which the purchase request must be generated.
Select the "Edit MCR Reference Details" link at the bottom of the page to modify the MCR.
Select the “Edit Notes” link at the bottom of the page to enter the notes for the engineering document.
Select the “Edit Reference Details” link at the bottom of the page to modify the reference documents that are needed for executing the engineering document.
Select the “Edit Publications Changed” link at the bottom of the page to enter the publications affected because of the engineering document execution.
Select the “View MCR Reference Details” link at the bottom of the page to view the MCR reference details.
Select the “View Authorization Status Log” link at the bottom of the page, to view the authorization status log details.
Select the “View Eng. Doc” link at the bottom of the page to view the engineering document.

Note: The above link will be available only till the engineering document is in the Fresh status. After the release of the document, the “View Eng. Notes” link will be available.
Editing engineering document – An overview
This page allows you to modify the details of the selected engineering document. Engineering document that are in “Fresh” status can be modified.
The system allows you to modify all the details pertaining to the engineering document, except for reference document details.
You can also indicate whether,
the engineering change has to be performed in the original place of the part,
follow-up action is required after executing the engineering document,
purchase request must be generated for the parts required for executing the engineering document.
The system performs the following, when the details are modified:
Updates the engineering document details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the server date.
Sets the “Authorization Status” of the engineering document as “Pending”, if any approval requirements are specified in the “Set Authorization Rules” activity, for the combination of the change document type and the source document type of the engineering document. If approval requirements are not specified, the “Authorization Status” is set as “Authorization Not Required”.
If the login employee exists in the authorization hierarchy defined for the combination of the change document type and source doc type of the engineering document, the engineering document must be re-authorized, by all the members of the authorization committee in which the employee exists, and also by the higher level authorization committee.
If the login employee does not exist in the authorization hierarchy, the engineering document has to be re-authorized by all the authorization committees (as identified in the “Set Authorization Rules” activity, for the combination of the Change Doc Type and Source Doc Type of the engineering document).
You can also cancel the engineering document in this page. Once the engineering document is cancelled, the system assigns the “Cancelled” status to the engineering document, and the engineering document will not be available in other activities for processing.

Modify the applicability, priority, type, schedule type and category of the engineering document, in the “Eng Doc” group box.
Modify the execution details and weight and balance details in the respective group boxes.
Click the “Edit Engineering Document” pushbutton to update the modified details.

You can cancel the engineering document.
Click the “Cancel Eng Doc” pushbutton to cancel the engineering document..
The system assigns the “Cancelled” status to the engineering document., and the engineering document. will not be available in other activities for processing.
