Select the “Edit Part Number Effectivity” link at the bottom of the “Create Engineering Document” or “Edit Engineering Document” page.
The “Edit Part No Effectivity” page appears.
The system displays the following in the "Eng Doc Details" group box:
Eng. Doc # |
The engineering document for which the part effectivity must be entered. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the engineering document. |
Subject |
The textual description of the engineering document. |

Note: The system displays all the part numbers that are already associated to the engineering document and the revision number combination.
Enter the following field in the “Part Details” multiline:
Part # |
The part number for which the engineering change is applicable (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. The part number should have already been identified in the “Maintain Maintenance Info. For Part” of the “Aircraft” business component and the status of the part number must be “Active”. Ensure that the part number is unique in the multiline. Once associated to the Engineering Document, the part number cannot be modified. |
Help facility available. |
Note: If you attempt to modify an already associated part number, the system displays an error message. To delete associated part details, check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline and click the "Delete" button.
If the more than one Engineering Document is created from the same MCR, and the Engineering Documents are not in “Canceled” status, and the “Allow Duplicate Engineering Document on the same effectivity” field is set to “No”, the part number cannot be referred in more than one Engineering Document.
The system displays the following field on clicking the “Edit Part No. Effectivity” pushbutton:

Note: Ensure that atleast one part number is entered in the multiline.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the part for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the parts selected in the multiline.
Select the “Edit Serial No Effectivity” link provided below the multiline, to modify the serial number effectivity details.
The system deletes the part, associated part serial effectivity information and the configuration details of the part identified in the “Edit Part Configuration Change Information” page.
If the part is deleted from the “Part Details” multiline, the system deletes the corresponding details of the part from the “Edit / Terminate Related Work Unit Schedules” page.
Click the “Edit Effectivity” pushbutton to update the part effectivity details.
If a new part is added in the multiline, and if you have chosen to update model and part configuration in the “Edit Configuration Change Information” page,
the system checks whether the part specified in the “Existing Part #” field of the “Edit Configuration Change Information” page exists in the part configuration of the aircraft. If exists, the system copies the respective level code, position code, part serial number, NHA and the corresponding new part number against each part. If the existing part type is “Piece Part”, the position code details are not copied.
If one of the parts, identified in the “Existing Part #” field, appears at a child level in the configuration of another part number, which has also been identified in the existing part list, then the corresponding details are not copied.
To proceed, carry out the following:
Select the “View Terminated Eng.Doc” link at the bottom of the page to view the terminated engineering document details.
