Entering reference information for engineering document

This page allows you to record reference information for the selected engineering document. Tell me more.

Select the “Edit Reference Details” link at the bottom of the “Create Engineering Document” or “Edit Engineering Document” page.

The “Edit References Information” page appears.

The system displays the following in the "Eng Doc Details" group box :

Eng. Doc #	The engineering document for which the reference details must be entered.
Revision #	The revision number of the engineering document.
Subject	The textual description of the engineering document.

Note: The system displays the document references that are already defined for the engineering document and the revision number combination.

Enter the following in the “Reference Document Details” multiline:

Reference Doc Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the document to which the reference document belongs. The system lists all the document types defined in the "Create Reference Document Type" activity of the “Common Master” business component. The system leaves the field blank by default.

Document ID

The number identifying the document that must be referred during engineering document execution (Alphanumeric, 18). Mandatory. Once associated to the engineering document, the reference document number cannot be modified.

File Name

The name of the file that contains the reference document details (Alphanumeric, 50).

Note: At least one reference document number must be entered in the multiline. Ensure that the combination of the reference document number and the document type, is unique in the multiiine.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the reference document for deletion.
Click the Delete icon provided in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the reference document selected in the multiline.
Click the “Edit Reference Doc. Details” pushbutton to update the reference document details.

Entering reference information for engineering document – An overview

This page allows you to record reference information for the selected engineering document. The execution of the engineering document might involve referencing of previously executed documents, manuals, drawings, etc. These details are recorded as reference information in this page.

You can specify the document type, the reference document number and the description. The system updates the details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date.

Attach document references to engineering document

You can attach documents that will be referenced during the engineering document execution.

Select the type of the reference document in the “Reference Doc Type” field, in the “Reference Document Details” multiline.
Enter the document ID and the description of the reference document.
