Creating child engineering document – An overview
This page enables you to create a child engineering document. A unique number identifies the child engineering document. Based on the option settings, the system either generates the engineering document number automatically, or enables you to enter it manually. To generate the number automatically, you must specify the numbering type in this page.
You can specify the category to which the engineering document belongs, user status and the description of the engineering document. The system displays the ATA chapter for which the child engineering document is created and the reference document details of the parent engineering document.
The system indicates whether the parent engineering document is applicable for aircraft, component or engine. You can specify the priority, type of the engineering document, whether the engineering document must be performed on one-time or recurring basis, background details and the reason for creating the child engineering document.
The execution details of the engineering document, such as the work center in which the engineering document has to be performed, estimated time and man-hours required for the execution of the engineering document, can be defined.
You can also indicate whether,
the engineering change has to be performed in the original place of the part
follow-up action is required after executing the engineering document
work order must be created directly from engineering document
purchase request must be generated for the parts required for executing the engineering document.
You can record the change in weight, moment and the electrical load of the aircraft after executing the engineering document.
The system assigns the “Fresh” status as soon as the child engineering document is created, and sets the creation date and time to the server date and time.
Note: If approval requirements are specified in the “Set Authorization Rules” activity, for the combination of the change document type and the source document type of the engineering document, the system sets the “Authorization Status” of the engineering document as “Pending”. Otherwise, the “Authorization Status” is set as “Authorization Not Required”.
