Through this activity, the authorizer can authorize the promotion, transfer or promotion with transfer of an employee, initiated by the HR user. Before giving authorization, the authorizer can edit the details specified by the initiator with regard to the employee’s promotion, transfer or promotion with transfer. The promotion/transfer details that the authorizer can edit comprise,
The reason for promotion, transfer or promotion with transfer.
The date of promotion, transfer or promotion with transfer.
The position, employment unit, department, job and supervisor details.
The comments previously specified with regard to the details.
In addition, the authorizer can edit,
The base salary details of the employee.
The reporting to relationship details consequent to the promotion, transfer or promotion with transfer of the employee. Note that if the authorizer has the necessary data level security permissions, he/she can make necessary changes to the base salary details of the employee. Otherwise, the base salary details specified by the initiator who initiated the promotion/transfer process will be authorized on authorization of the promotion/transfer process.
Apart from editing, the authorizer can also view information that helps in making the necessary changes to the promotion/transfer details as well as in authorizing or rejecting the promotion/transfer process of the employee. These details comprise,

Viewing Internal Equity: Through the internal equity feature, you can compare the compensation details of the selected employees with the compensation drawn by other employees having the same job, department-job combination, grade set-grade combination or number of years of work experience. This basically helps in rationalizing the changes to be effected in the employee’s base salary details consequent to promotion, transfer or promotion with transfer.
Employee At A Glance: This feature enables you to view the complete profile of the employee such as, the unique code and name, the employee type which indicates if he/she is a regular or contract employee the synopsis of his/her educational qualifications and work experience, the current work details, and the assignments handled by the employee.
Changing Reporting to Relationships: The reporting to relationships indicate the employee-supervisor relationship details within the organization. The promotion, transfer or promotion with transfer of an employee or a supervisor entail changes to be made in the reporting to relationship details. For example, if an employee is promoted or transferred, you are to specify the details of the new supervisor to whom he/she must report.
Following completion of the required changes, the authorizer can authorize or reject the record. If the authorizer rejects the record or if the record is still pending for authorization, the HR user can edit the values and resubmit the record for authorization.

Through this activity, you can authorize promotion, transfer or promotion with transfer process for an employee. Note that the system facilitates authorizing demotion if the system parameters for demotion is set accordingly during deployment. Note that you can also reject authorization for the promotion/transfer process.

The system displays the “Request for Modification/Deletion of Base Salary Details” page which you can use to make the necessary changes to the base salary details of the employee.

The “Change Employee Reporting to Relationships” page appears which you can use to change the reporting to details.
You can view the compensation details of other employees in the organization having the same work experience or qualifications etc., but holding different assignments and compare the same with the employee’s compensation details.

The system displays the “View Internal Equity” page which you can use to view the compensation details of other employees.
You can view the synopsis of the educational qualifications of the employee, his/her current work related details, the assignments he/she handled within the company etc.
