You can modify the details of the selected aircraft in this page. Tell me more.

The “Edit Aircraft Record” page appears.

The system displays the following:

Date Format

The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default.

The system displays the following field in the “Aircraft Identifiers” group box:

Aircraft Reg #

The registration number of the aircraft to be modified.

Note: You cannot modify the details of the aircraft record that is created through the “Change Aircraft Reg #” page.

Record Status

Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the aircraft. The system displays the options "Under Creation", “Active” and “Inactive”. Set the status to “Inactive” to disable the aircraft from future reference in other activities. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve details of aircraft irrespective of their status.

You cannot modify the status to "Under Creation", if the aircraft was already in "Active" or "Inactive" status

The system displays the following field in the “Aircraft Identifiers” group box:

Previous Aircraft Reg #

The previous registration number of the aircraft, as available in the “View Aircraft Ownership History” page.

Manufacturer Serial #

The MSN or the manufacturer’s serial number given to the aircraft by the manufacturer at the time of production. (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory.

Variable Tab #

The tab number of the aircraft (Integer). The variable tab number is one of the identifiers of the aircraft. Mandatory.

Note: Ensure that manufacturer serial number and variable tab number are unique for the manufacturer of a particular aircraft model.

The system does not perform the above check for aircraft that are inactivated due to creation of new aircraft registration number, and also for aircraft that are reactivated after creation of new aircraft registration number.

Nose #

The nose number of the aircraft is an aircraft identifier, which is primarily used by the marketing department of an airline (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory.

Aircraft Model #

The model to which the aircraft belongs (Alphanumeric, 20). Mandatory. Ensure that the model number is already defined in the “Create Aircraft Model” activity and is in “Active” status.

The system displays the following field:

Manufacturer #

The number identifying the manufacturer of the aircraft.

Date Of Manufacture

The date of manufacture of the aircraft (Date Format). The date must be in the format specified in the “Date Format” field.

Inventory Part #

The inventory part number of the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 40). Inventory Part number is the manufacturers’, suppliers’ or the industry standard identifier for the aircraft.

Customer Effectivity #

The customer effectivity number is another identifier for an aircraft (Alphanumeric, 30). It is usually used in the aircraft manuals like IPC, AMM, FIM etc.

Engine Set #

The engine set number of the aircraft.

Reg. Cert #

The number on the registration certificate of the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 40). Data entry in this field is mandatory when the “Engagement Type” is “Full Maintenance”.

Issue Date

The date on which the registration certificate was issued (Date Format). The date entered in this field must be in the format specified in the “Date Format” field.

Aircraft Ownership

Use the drop-down list box to modify the ownership type of the aircraft. Mandatory. If the record status of the aircraft is “Under Creation”, the system provides the options:

 
  • Owned - indicates that the aircraft is owned.

 
  • Leased - indicates that the aircraft is taken on lease.

 
  • Leased out - indicates that the aircraft is leased out to a third party.

  • Customer – indicates that the aircraft is owned by customer. You must select this option when the “Engagement Type” of the aircraft is “On Request”.

 

If the record status of the aircraft is “Active” or “Inactive”, the system provides only the last saved aircraft ownership.

Note: You can modify the ownership of the aircraft record, only if the aircraft record is in “Under Creation” status.

Regulatory Authority

 

Use the drop-down list box to modify the regulatory authority to which the aircraft belongs. Regulatory Authorities are the statutory bodies responsible for laying, implementing and monitoring of standards regarding airworthiness of the aircraft.

The system lists all the regulatory authorities that are in “Active” status, as defined in the “Create Regulatory Authority Codes” activity of the “Common Masters” business component. Mandatory.

Lease Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of lease, if you have selected “Leased” or “Leased out” in the “Aircraft Ownership” field. The system provides the following options:

 
  • Wet - indicates that the lessee should maintain the aircraft.

 
  • Dry - indicates that the lessor should maintain the aircraft.

 

Leave the field blank if you have selected “Owned” in the “Aircraft Ownership” field.

Owning Agency #

The code identifying the agency who owns the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 25). You must leave this field blank if the "Aircraft Ownership" is "Owned".

If the "Aircraft Ownership" is "Customer" ensure that the owning agency is already defined as a customer code in the "Create Customer code" activity of "Customer" business component and is in "Active" status.

Note: You cannot modify the owning agency number for those aircraft that are in “Active” status.

The system displays the following:

Owning Agency Name

The name of the owning agency

Engagement Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of service provided to the aircraft. The system lists the following options:

  • Full Maintenance – Select this option to indicate that full maintenance service would be provided on the aircraft

  • On Request – Select this option to indicate that the maintenance service would be provided on request. While selecting this option ensure that the “Aircraft Ownership” is “Customer”.

Maint. Operator#

Use the drop-own list box to select the maintenance operator for the aircraft. The drop-down list box displays all the “Active” maintenance operator codes defined in the Common Masters component.

The maintenance operator is mandatory, if the process parameter “Enforce Maintenance Parameter” for entity type “Aircraft Entry” is set to 1 in the “Define Process Entities” activity. Further, the system automatically retrieves and displays the maintenance operator for a customer owned aircraft, if “Enforce Maintenance Parameter” for entity type “Aircraft Entry” is set to 1.

The system displays the following field:

Power by Hour?

Indicates whether the selected aircraft is under the PBH coverage.

The system displays “Yes”, if the selected aircraft is covered under PBH and if the PBH contract is valid as on the current system date, else the system displays “No”.

Preferred Stock Status

Use the drop-down list box to specify the preferred stock status. The system lists all the stock statuses having status attribute as “Ownership – Internal” or “Ownership – Customer” and the transaction as “Aircraft Creation”, as defined in the “User defined Stock Status” business component.

Note: If the “Aircraft Ownership” is set as “Owned”, “Leased” or “Leased-Out”, the system ensures that the status attribute of the selected preferred stock status is “Ownership – Internal”.

If the “Aircraft Ownership” is set as “Customer”, the system ensures that the status attribute of the selected preferred stock status is “Ownership – Customer”.

Note: The system updates the status of the aircraft as “Active”, if the record status is modified from “Under creation” to “Active” and the engagement type is set as “Full Maintenance”.

The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” group box:

Created by

The name of the user who created the aircraft information.

Created Date

The date on which the aircraft was created.

Last Modified by

The name of the user who last modified the aircraft information.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the aircraft information was last modified.

Comments

Any additional comments or remarks pertaining to the modification of the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 255).

Editing aircraft record – An overview

Edit Aircraft Record - A summary of the activity

The following can be modified:

The system updates the modified details of the aircraft, stores the name of the user who modified the details and sets the last modified date to the current server date.

Specify aircraft ownership details

You can specify the ownership details of the aircraft, which could be “Owned”, “Leased” or “Leased Out”.

Specify lease type

You can specify the type of lease for the “Leased” or “Leased Out” aircraft. There are two types of lease, namely, wet lease and dry lease. “Wet lease” indicates that the airline operator taking the aircraft on lease should carry out the maintenance activities on the aircraft. ”Dry lease” indicates that the owner of the aircraft should carry out the maintenance activities on the aircraft.

Specify the maintenance base for an aircraft

The maintenance base is the default location or organizational unit where the aircraft can be serviced.

Specify multiple condition for an aircraft

You can specify the condition of the aircraft. This facilitates the tracking of the present condition of a given aircraft.

Specify the type of the aircraft

You can specify the aircraft type which could be “Wide-Body”, “Narrow Body” etc., The aircraft type are defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. The system lists all the quick codes defined for the aircraft type in the “Aircraft Type” drop-down list box.

Specify the usage type of the aircraft

You can specify the usage type which could be “Passenger”, “Cargo”, “Combi” etc., The usage type are defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. And the system lists all the quick codes defined for the usage type in the “Usage Type” drop-down list box.
