Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to add or modify the technical and attribute parameters for the selected aircraft. Tell me more.

The “Edit Technical & Attribute Parameters” page appears.

The system displays the following fields:

Date & Time Format

The format in which the date and time fields appears in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default.

The system displays the following in the “Aircraft Details” group box:

Aircraft Reg #

The registration number of the selected aircraft for which you wish to define the parameters.

Manufacturer Serial #

The MSN or the manufacturer’s serial number given to the aircraft by the manufacturer at the time of production.

Note: On launching the page, the system displays all the attribute and technical parameters that are already associated for the aircraft else displays the attribute and technical parameters defined for the aircraft model, to which the selected aircraft belongs, in the “Parameter Details” multiline.

Parameter

The identifier of the parameter (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the parameter is already defined in the “Create Parameters” activity and is of type “Technical” or “Attribute”.

Help facility available.

The system displays the following fields on clicking the “Edit Parameters” pushbutton:

UOM

The unit of measurement of the parameter.

Parameter Type

The type of the parameter, which can be “Technical” or “Attribute”.

Parameter Source

Use the drop-down list box to select the parameter source from which the parameter value of the attribute parameter must be updated. The system provides the options “Flight Log”, “Manual” and “Calculated”. Leave the field blank if the parameter is a technical parameter or if you do not wish to indicate the parameter source for the attribute parameter.

  • Flight Log - indicates that the parameter value has to be updated from the flight log.

  • Manual - indicates that the parameter value has to be updated manually.

  • Calculated - indicates that the parameter value is updated based on the formula associated to the parameter. This formula depicts the mathematical relationship of the parameter with the participating parameters. When one or all the participating parameters are updated, the formula based parameter will be automatically updated.

The system displays the following fields on clicking the “Edit Parameters” pushbutton:

Present Value

The present value of the parameter.

As Of Date

The date on which the present value of the parameter was recorded.

As Of Time

The time at which the present value of the parameter was recorded.

Parameter Description

The textual description of the parameter.

Note: The system attaches the parameters to the aircraft.

Defining technical and attribute parameters for the aircraft – An overview

Edit Aircraft Record - A summary of the activity

The aircraft inherits the technical and attribute parameters defined for the aircraft model. You can add new parameters to the aircraft by entering the parameter details in the multiline. If the parameter is an attribute parameter, the parameter source has to be specified, to indicate the source from which the parameter value is to be updated.

You can also modify the details of the attribute parameters that have already been defined for the aircraft, in this activity.
