Defining technical and attribute parameters for the aircraft
This page allows you to add or modify the technical and attribute parameters for the selected aircraft. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Technical & Attribute Parameters” link at the bottom of the main page.
The “Edit Technical & Attribute Parameters” page appears.
The system displays the following fields:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields appears in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Aircraft Details” group box:
Aircraft Reg # |
The registration number of the selected aircraft for which you wish to define the parameters. |
Manufacturer Serial # |
The MSN or the manufacturer’s serial number given to the aircraft by the manufacturer at the time of production. |
Note: On launching the page, the system displays all the attribute and technical parameters that are already associated for the aircraft else displays the attribute and technical parameters defined for the aircraft model, to which the selected aircraft belongs, in the “Parameter Details” multiline.
Enter the following in the “Parameter Details”, if you wish to define new parameters for the aircraft:
Parameter |
The identifier of the parameter (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the parameter is already defined in the “Create Parameters” activity and is of type “Technical” or “Attribute”. Help facility available. |
The system displays the following fields on clicking the “Edit Parameters” pushbutton:
UOM |
The unit of measurement of the parameter. |
Parameter Type |
The type of the parameter, which can be “Technical” or “Attribute”. |
Enter the following field:
Parameter Source |
Use the drop-down list box to select the parameter source from which the parameter value of the attribute parameter must be updated. The system provides the options “Flight Log”, “Manual” and “Calculated”. Leave the field blank if the parameter is a technical parameter or if you do not wish to indicate the parameter source for the attribute parameter. |

Note: The system attaches the parameters to the aircraft.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the "Initialize Parameter Values" link at the bottom of the page to initialize parameter values for the aircraft.
Defining technical and attribute parameters for the aircraft – An overview
The aircraft inherits the technical and attribute parameters defined for the aircraft model. You can add new parameters to the aircraft by entering the parameter details in the multiline. If the parameter is an attribute parameter, the parameter source has to be specified, to indicate the source from which the parameter value is to be updated.
You can also modify the details of the attribute parameters that have already been defined for the aircraft, in this activity.

For attribute parameters, you can specify the parameter source, to indicate the source from which the parameter value must be updated.
Set the “Parameter Source” field to “Flight Log” to indicate that the parameter value has to be updated from the flight log.
Set the “Parameter Source” field to “Manual” to indicate that the parameter value has to be updated manually.
Set the “Parameter Source” field to “Calculated” to indicate that the parameter value is updated based on the formula associated to the parameter.
