This activity allows the countersigning officer to carry out the following responsibilities, for a selected employee:
Review the employee appraisal details completed by all the appraisers, for the employee
Compute the overall appraisal rating, if all the employee’s appraisers have completed evaluating the appraisal
Enter comments pertaining to the appraisal
Approve or not approve the appraisal
The system will not allow the appraisal details to be viewed from the view links, if the appraisal status is “In Progress” or “Not Started
The countersigning officer can record his review status based on the appraisal parameter defined for “Appraisal Acceptance by Employee Before Countersigning Officer Review” for the specified appraisal type and calendar.
The countersigning officer will receive an email notification when the employee records his acceptance and comments as either ‘yes’ or ‘no’. This will allow the countersigning officer to take necessary follow-up action.

If the Self Appraisal applicable parameter is setup for the employee and ‘Mandatory Before Appraisal’ flag is set then the Employee Self Appraisal should also be completed.

The countersigning officer’s review is required only if either of the following was carried out in the “Record Employee Appraiser Mapping” activity of Appraisal Administration
The “Set as Appraiser’s Supervisor” pushbutton was selected, to define the supervisor of the employee’s current supervisor as his countersigning officer. This is in the “Select Employee to Record Appraiser Mapping” page
The countersigning officer was selected in the “Record Appraiser Mapping” page
Appraisal Acceptance by Employee Before Countersigning Officer
The value of the parameter “Appraisal Acceptance By Employee Before Countersigning Officer Review “ can be set to “Yes” or “No” for the appraisal calendar, in the “Record Appraisal Calendar” activity.
If this parameter is set to “Yes”, the system will verify whether the employee has indicated his acceptance as “Yes” or “No” for the appraisal. This information is obtained from either of the following:
The “View Appraisal Details & Acceptance/Comments by Employee” activity
The “Appraisal Exception Handling” activity, where the HR Admin could have exceptionally recorded employee’s acceptance, after the employee had indicated non-acceptance in the “View Appraisal Details & Acceptance/Comments by Employee” activity.
