Leave Administration – An overview
Through this component, the HR user can apply for leave on behalf of an employee. It is applicable when the employee does not use the self-service option to post the leave application. The leave application, after being created, can be edited.
The supervisor can access this leave application and edit it if required, before authorizing it; he or she can reject the leave application, as well.
An authorized leave application can be accessed by the HR user and altered. He or she can also create a request for canceling the authorized leave application. The altered leave application and the request for cancellation will need to be authorized by the supervisor.
At any point of time, the leave balance of the employee is available at hand. It provides the complete picture of the leave entitlement, accrual and adjustment of each leave type to which the employee is entitled. It also provides the total balance of leave units that the employee can currently avail, after all factors are considered.
Similarly, the exact status of any leave for which the employee had applied is available. It could be “pending for authorization”, “pending for authorization – cancel“, “pending for authorization – alter“ or “authorized“.
Through this component, you can apply for the encashment of leave units that has not been availed and the HR user can authorize the request for leave encashment. The HR user can also regularize the leave of the employee. Regularization refers to normalizing anomalies in leave transactions, so that these transactions fall in line with the leave rules defined in the Leave business process.
