Through this activity, you can authorize the rehire process initiated for a separated employee. Rehire refers to filling of vacant positions in the organization, by hiring employees who were in the service of the organization, but have been separated.
A need may arise in the organization for rehiring separated employees for reasons such as familiarity with organizational procedures, and proven performance. The rehire process can be initiated and authorized only for regular employees who were certified as eligible for rehire. An employee’s eligibility for rehire is recorded at the time of effecting his/her separation. You can view the records of separated employees and ascertain the eligibility for rehire of prospective separated employees. However, the eligibility for rehire status serves more as a reference norm than as a condition for rehire.
You can edit the rehire details before authorization. The details that can be edited are:
The date of rehire and the reason for rehire. The rehire reasons are user-defined using the Quick Codes component.
The unique codes of the position, job or department for which the employee is being rehired.
The organizational attributes of the specified position.
The attributes of the job for which the separated employee is being rehired.
The reporting to details.
The hierarchy point details.
The benefit related information. This indicates the workers union to which the employee being rehired must be affiliated to and the benefit group to which the employee must be associated. This benefit-related information is used in the process of computation of premiums for benefit plans under health, welfare and retirement
