Set Single Step Applicant Evaluation - A summary of the activity
This activity enables you, as an assessor or a panel, to select a hire request in which the applicants have been shortlisted during screening. You can then retrieve and evaluate these shortlisted applicants. In addition, you can perform the salary fitment for the applicants who are finally shortlisted during evaluation.
Evaluating an applicant in a single step: You can select any applicant, shortlisted during screening, and rate the suitability of this applicant for the vacancy. The parameters on which you rate his / her suitability are:
Academic Performance
Qualifying Experience
Communication Skills
Attitude
Personality
You can rate the applicant as one of the following for these parameters:
Excellent
Good
Satisfactory
Below Average
Based on the rating of the applicant, you can set his / her application status as one of the following:
Finally Shortlisted
On Hold
Waitlisted
Not Selected
After you have rated the applicant’s performance and set the application status, you are to save the details. You can edit the applicant’s evaluation parameters later, if required.
Performing salary fitment for a shortlisted applicant: If an applicant is finally shortlisted in the evaluation process, you can perform the salary fitment for him / her. You can set the following details of Salary:
The amount that will be the Base Salary
The Rated frequency
The pay scale
The frequency at which the salary payment will be made
In addition, you can set the other details pertaining to the salary, such as
The details of the pay elements
The proposed amount against each pay element
Whether the pay element is an earning or a deduction
The proposed annual gross
Optionally, you can retrieve the salary details of the employees under the selection unit where the shortlisted applicant is to be recruited. You can refer to these details, before performing the salary fitment.
You can also enter the details of the salary that the shortlisted applicant was drawing in his / her previous organization and compute the annual gross pay.

The status of a hire request must be “Open”, which means that there must exist a vacancy in an organization unit to recruit candidates.

The assessor’s role is crucial in recruitment, as this role evaluates the suitability of the applicant for the vacancy. Assessors can be internal or external to the organization.
When applicants are to be jointly assessed by a group of assessors, a panel can be formed. Typical examples of panels could be “Panel for Selection of Senior Management Staff”, “Panel for Group Discussion Assessment ”, and “Panel for Technical Assessment”.
To recruit an applicant for a senior position, there may be a need to assess the applicant more than once by different assessors. In such instances, the assessor who has evaluated the applicant once cannot evaluate him / her for the consecutive evaluation. The assessor, after evaluating the applicant, is required to mention who would be the assessor for the subsequent evaluation.
