Recording part serial details
This section enables you to specify serial # for the part covered in the “Part Effectivity” tab.
Select the “Part Serial” tab in the “Manage Customer Contract” page.
Enter the following fields:
Part Eff. Ref. Code |
Use the drop-down list box to specify a unique identification number holding information for a particular row, like Part attributes. The system lists all the part effectivity reference codes defined in the “Part Effectivity”. Data entry in this field is mandatory for customer-specific contracts. Note that this code number cannot be modified while editing / revising the contract. |
Part # |
The number identifying the part for which you wish to record part serial details. Ensure that the Part # specified is the same as the Part # against the effectivity Code Help facility available |
Mfr. Part # |
The number assigned to the part, by the manufacturer of the part for which you wish to record part serial details. Help facility available |
Mfr. # |
The number identifying the manufacturer for whom you wish to record part serial details. Help facility available |
The system displays the following:

Enter the following fields:
MSN |
Manufacturer Serial number of the part specified in the “Part Effectivity” tab for which you wish to record part serial details. Data entry in this field is mandatory if no value is specified in the “Serial #” field. Help facility available |
Serial # |
The number identifying the serial of the part for which you wish to record details. Data entry in this field is mandatory if no value is specified in the “MSN” field. Ensure that the number specified in this field is a valid serial number for the specified MSN. Help facility available |
Notes |
Any notes on the part serial. |
Effective From |
The starting date from which the revised contract is effective for the part serial. Mandatory. Note that this date cannot be modified while editing the contract. |
Effective To |
The ending date up to which the revised contract is effective for the part serial. Mandatory. Note this date can be modified only on revising the contract and this modified date must be later than the current system date. |
Note: Ensure that at least one record is available in the multiline.
Click the “Save Part Serial Details” pushbutton to record details of part serials in the contract.
The system performs the following:
Generates an incremental revision number when you modify an “approved” contract.
To proceed, carryout the following:
Select the “Primary Info.” tab to record primary contract information
Select the "Aircraft Effectivity" tab to record the details of aircraft covered in the contract.
Select the "Part Effectivity" tab to record part covered in the contract.
Select the Work Scope - US Defense tab page to record work scope details for US Defense contracts.
Select the "Work Scope" tab to record the scope of work to be performed on the object covered in the contract.
Select the "TAT - Aircraft" tab to record TAT the time required to service an aircraft for a given effectivity .
Select the "TAT - Parts" tab to record the time required to service a part for a given effectivity or repair process code.
Select the "Incl. & Excl.- Task" tab to include / exclude pricing basis for objects serviced.
Select the "Excl. - Consumed Parts" tab page to record exclusions for consumed parts.
Select the “Contract Upload Summary” tab page to view a summary of mandatory tab pages for which data is to be provided.
Click the “Confirm Contract” pushbutton to confirm a contract.
The primary information must be saved in the “Primary Info.” tab page and the “Contract Type” drop-down list box must be specified as “General” to proceed further.
Parts must be specified as the “Obj. Eff.” In the Primary Info Tab page.
The “Covers Parts Removed?” field in the Aircraft Effectivity Tab multiline must be specified as other than “Specific Coverage” if Aircraft is selected as the object effectivity.
The “Qty” field in the multiline must be specified in the “Part Effectivity” tab page
Serial information is applicable only for “Customer-Specific” contracts.
