Edit Warehouse Information – A summary of the activity
This activity allows you to modify the details of the warehouse that has already been created. You can select the warehouse in the “Warehouse Selection” page and modify the warehouse information in the “Warehouse Information” page.
You can also modify the existing details of the zones and bins in the warehouse in the “Zone Information” and “Bin Information” pages.

Define warehouses of different storage type
Warehouse can be of “Normal” or “Free” storage type. The warehouse with “Normal” storage type can be further divided into zones and bins for storing a variety of parts. This type of warehouse helps to store the parts in a structured manner, which also helps in traceability of parts. The parts can be stored in bulk in the warehouse if the storage type is “Free”.
Go to “Edit Warehouse Information” page.
Select the appropriate option in the “Storage Type” drop-down list box, to define the warehouse as “Normal” or “Free”.
Configure warehouse as Allow Reservation/Hard Allocation
You can specify the warehouse as “Allow Reservation / Hard Allocation”, for considering the parts in the warehouse for reservation and hard allocation.
Go to “Warehouse Information” page.
Check the “Allow Reservation / Hard Allocation” box to allow the parts in the warehouse to be considered for reservation and hard allocation.
Define normal and free zones under a warehouse
The zones can be defined for the warehouse of storage type “Normal”. An these zones can be of type “Normal” or “Free”, to enable part traceability. For zones of type “Normal”, bins can be defined within the zone for storing the parts.
Go to “Create Zone Information” page to define zone for the warehouse.
Select the appropriate option in the “Zone Type” drop-down list box to define the zone as “Normal” or “Free”.
Use the “Zone Information” page to modify the existing zones for the warehouse.
Specify “Picking priority” for a zone
You can specify the priority in which the parts must be issued from the zone. At the time of issuing a particular part from the warehouse, the availability of the part will be checked in the various zones based on the priority specified here.
Go to “Zone Information” page.
Specify the priority in the “Picking Priority” field of the “Zone Details” multiline.
A bin is the area in the zone that can be specifically allocated for storage of a particular part. You can define bins for zones of type “Normal”.
Use the “Create Bin Information” page to define bins for the zone.
Use the “Bin Information” page to modify the existing bin details for the zone.
Specify “Picking priority” for a bin
You can also specify the priority for the various bins in the zone. At the time of issuing a particular part or variant from the warehouse, the availability of the part will first be checked in the various zones, and then in the bins based on the priority assigned.
Go to “Bin Information” page.
Specify the priority in the “Picking Priority” field of the “Bin Details” multiline.
Specify the transactions supported in a warehouse
Use the “Warehouse – Transaction Allowed” page to specify the transactions such as receipts and issues that can be allowed in the warehouse.
Specify the part types allowed in a warehouse
Use the “Warehouse – Part Types Allowed” page to select the part types such as components and spare parts, that can be stored in the warehouse.
Specify the user defined stock statuses / component conditions that are allowed in the warehouse
Use the “Warehouse – Stock Status / Condition Allowed” page to specify the stock statuses / component conditions that are allowed in the warehouse.
Maintain reference documents for the warehouse
You can maintain the reference document details such as file name and the document ID that is attached to the warehouse.
Select the reference docutment type in the “Reference Document Type” field.
Use the “Edit References” page to specify the reference document details pertaining to the warehouse.
