Storage Administration - An overview

    Getting familiar with the activities

Storage administration facilitates definition of storage hierarchy starting from Warehouse, which is at highest level to bin at the lowest level. Organizational Units invariably have a number of storage units for stocking parts (items). These units or warehouses are not necessarily physically distinct locations , but they might be located in the same geographic location and maybe identified separately only to segregate the planning and replenishment of stocks in these storage units.

With in a warehouse specific sections are identified  for storing specific parts like hazardous and inflammable , which require stringent storage conditions. The storage administration business component also provides facility to specify Capacity Constraint at a storage level, warehouse planning parameters for each part in a warehouse, the different transactions, part types, part statuses supported for every warehouse.
