Time Tracking Setup - An overview
Monitoring employee time and attendance details is one of the most challenging and tedious task for any organization. To meet this challenge, a comprehensive time and attendance system, Time Tracker is provided. This business process enables you to automate your time and attendance tracking and also includes Smart Card options. Also, the Time Tracker enables the creation of an interface if an integrating system already exists for managing the time booking entities.
Through this Time Tracking system, the organization can closely monitor and control labor costs, minimize compliance risk, generate employee exception reports and reduce paperwork.
In this business process there are two major business components, Time Tracking Setup and Timesheet. While the Time Tracking Setup enables configuration of the time sheet master, the Timesheet component deals with the actual time and attendance booking.
This overview deals broadly with the Time Tracking Setup business component. In this component through the various activities you can perform the following:
Managing time booking types
You can define entities called booking types against which Time Booking Codes are assigned to enable the employee book timesheet.
Managing time booking codes
You can define basic instances of the time booking types called time booking codes against which activities are assigned to enable the employee to book timesheet.
Managing activities
You can define tasks called activities in this page along with the estimated time and estimated hours required to complete those tasks. Also activity status can be controlled by using “active” or “inactive options.
Managing quick codes
You can define various quick codes like for eg. Attendance type, activity category etc. These user defined entities, created, edited and viewed in this screen are used within the time and attendance function to enable time booking management.
Mapping activities and mapping
You can define activities against which the employee books timesheet. The defined activities can then be mapped at the booking type or booking code level based on the process parameters set for the booking type.
Setting process parameters
You can configure various process parameter settings for individual booking types along with a set of common parameters that are applicable to all the booking types can be configured here.
