HR General Information An overview
Through this component, you can create the master data that can be used in various activities across components. You can create the data in the following areas:
The qualifications possessed by employees/applicants.
The state in a country to which the employee belongs to that can be used in the address for communication wherever it is recorded.
The local type, for example, Town, District etc., in the specified state/country that can be used in addresses.
The employee union to which the employee can be affiliated.
The Quick Code values for the process variables in the various business processes. You can also use this component to set access permissions for the quick code values as well as set quick code security parameters to users.
Creating Qualification: Through this activity, you can create a qualifications. This activity intends to create a master list of Qualifications that will be available in downstream processes like entering Employee qualifications or Applicant qualifications. Qualifications refer to the academic degrees, for example, MBA, MBBS etc., by virtue of which an employee can acquire a job or position in an organization. This activity aims at creating qualifications by capturing each qualification with unique details like code, description etc.
The Qualification particulars defined here can be used while,
Entering the qualification details for an employee in the organization or for an applicant in the recruitment process,
Processing of recruitment, where qualification becomes one of the parameters against which the details of an applicant's resume are matched.
The system also facilitates maintaining the qualification details in active or inactive status. If you choose to inactivate the details. it means that the particular qualification will not be available for further usage.
Creating Locals: Many business processes could be based on details such as the country or the State within a specific country or City/Town in a State etc. To cater to this requirement, Ramco Employee Induction provides for a three level address definition termed as Local Types. For example, in the United States the taxation laws are dependent on the School District of each State. So School District could be a Local Type in a State and Sitka is the local with local type as school district for State Alaska. This activity is intended for creation of such locals of a particular local type under a state. Once locals are defined for different local types for a state, these values will be available in address definition on selecting a particular state.

Creating Unions: Through this activity, you can create a union. Unions are the groups into which employees are classified for benefit related, employment related or other purposes. Apart from creating and defining a union with the unique details, you can also create committees in the union as well as create local groups within the union. The committees refer to the different panels created for administrative purposes or for executing other tasks for which the union is created.
Edit Quick Codes: The Quick Codes are intended for the purpose of defining preset values for certain Process Variables which facilitate easier usage of these values. These values can later be used in other transactions/processes. For example, blood group might take values like A Positive, A Negative, etc. These values can be defined here and they will be listed wherever Blood Group value is to be filled for an employee. Since this enables faster data entry in subsequent processes, it is termed as Quick Codes
Quick Code Security: Various Human Resource Processes could be carried out by different Users or through different Roles. For example, an Organization could have a User for Payroll and another User for Training. There could be a need that the User who is responsible for Training should not be given access to the Quick Code Values of the Payroll process. An Organization could opt for enabling Quick Code Security to meet this requirement. In such a case, specific Users would be given permissions to a set of Business Processes, based on their role.
