Create Quotation – A summary of the activity

This activity allows you to record a quotation submitted by the supplier. Quotations are created to quote the price of the requested parts. Quotation can be created based on RFQ. The supplier, on receipt of RFQ, would revert with his offer in the form of Quotation. This quotation information is captured in the system. Each quotation refers to details of one supplier. The details consist of the validity period of his offer, quantity price breaks, tax/charge/discount details, delivery terms, delivery details etc.

These quotations would then be analyzed on various factors like quality, price, delivery date etc. The authorized quotation, which meets the company’s expectation, would be used for creating a Purchase Order.

Confirmed quotations can be used for quotation analysis. After analysis, the selected quotation is authorized which can be used for creating a Purchase Order. Once a quotation is referred in a purchase order, it cannot be modified, since ordering has been done with the details available. Authorized quotations can be amended if it must be used in other purchase orders.

Part details captured while raising the quotation

The part details along with quoted price are captured in this activity. The system generates the line number for each part sequentially at the time of raising the quotation.

Enter quotation details

You can enter the quotation details like the quotation date category and part details pertaining to a quotation.

• Use the “Create Quotation” page, to enter quotation details and part details for the quotation document.

Specify terms and conditions for the quotation

You can enter the payment terms and conditions, insurance details and delivery terms for the parts to be quoted.

• Use the “Edit Terms & Conditions” page, to specify the terms and conditions for the quotation.

Record schedule and distribution details

You can enter the delivery schedule for those line items for which the schedule type is 'multiple'.

• Use the “Edit Schedule & Distribution” page, to specify the delivery schedule for the parts in the quotation.

Enter tax, charge and discount details at the part and document level

You can enter the TCD details such as the TCD code, TCD variant code, for the various parts in the quotation. You can also enter the TCD details and associate pay to supplier code for specific TCD for the quotation as a whole.

• Use the “Edit Part TCD Details” page, to specify the TCD code, TCD variant code and TCD rate details for the various parts in the quotation.

• Use the “Edit Document TCD Details” page, to specify the TCD code, TCD variant code and pay to supplier code details for the quotation as a whole.

Editing quantity price break details

You can enter the quantity price break details such as the from quantity, to quantity and the cost of the  part in that range in the quotation.

• Use the “Edit Quantity Price Break Details” page, to specify the from quantity, to quantity and the cost of the  part in the quantity range.

Editing the quality attribute details

You can enter the quality attribute details such as the minimum value, maximum value and standard value of the parts.

• Use the “Edit Quality Attributes” page, to specify minimum value, maximum value and the standard value of the parts.

Enter user-defined details for the quotation

You can enter any additional details pertaining to the quotation.

Modify a Quotation

You can modify the quotation that is already created in the “Create Quotation” activity.
