Creating service information – An overview

Create Service Main Information - A summary of the activity

This page allows you to create new services. All the main information of the service can be added in this page.

You can add the identification details like the service number, the reference status, the description of the service, a keyword for easy identification of the service, the type of the service and the category to which the service belongs. You are provided with the option of generating the service number automatically, that is by incrementing the last created service number.

Copying service details

This page also allows you to copy the details of an existing service and modify the details if required. You can copy the planning, purchase, attribute and other part number details of the service.

You can enter basic details of the service such as standard cost and specify the default UOM for the service. Any user-defined detail regarding the service can be entered.

Once the service is created you can assign a status to it. A service can remain in the “Fresh” status until all the information regarding the service has been updated. A service can be used in inventory and purchase transactions only when it is in the “Active” status.
