Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to update the planning details of a service, when it is newly created. You can enter planning details such as the time required for service completion, whether planning is proportionate to sub-contract order information and part analysis classification details. You can also copy the planning details from a location to the service.

The “Maintain Service Planning Information” page appears.

Note: The planning information for a service can be updated only if the “Reference Status” of the service is “Active”.

The system displays the following:

Date Format

The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the “User Preferences” business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default.

The system displays the following in the “Service Information” group box:

Service #

The unique number identifying the service for which the planning information must be updated.

Planning Status

Use the drop-down list box to set the inventory status of the service. Mandatory

 
  • Fresh – Select this status if the planning details have not been incorporated completely.

 
  • Active – Select this status if the planning details have been incorporated completely.

 
  • Inactive – Select this status if the service is no longer referred in transactions.

The system displays “Active” by default.

Note: Services that are already in the “Active” status cannot be changed to “Fresh”. Similarly, services in “Inactive” status cannot be changed to “Active” or “Fresh”.

The system displays the following.

Service Description

A textual description of the service.

Key Word

The key word used to easily identify the service.

Service Type

The type of the service, which could be “Regular” or “Conversion” or “Activity”.

Service Category

The category to which the service belongs.

Service Description

Location

Use the drop-down list box to select the organizational unit from which you wish to copy the planning information. The system lists all organizational units where the service can be created.

Purchase Information

Check this box, if you wish to copy the purchase information of the service from the organization unit selected in the “Location” field.

Note: The purchase information, if available, will be copied, when the box is checked and when the “Reference Status” of the service is “Active”.

The system sets the planning status of the service to “Fresh” if the planning and purchase information are copied.

The system retrieves and displays the planning details, if available in the selected organization unit, for the service number.

Est. Elapsed Time

The time required for completing the service activity (Decimal)

 

Use the drop-down list box to select the time unit, which could be “Days”, “Weeks”, “Months” and “Years”.

Proportionate For Order?

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the planning details must be proportionate to sub-contract order details. The system lists the options “Yes” and “No”.

Default UOM

The default UOM of the service

Standard Cost

The standard cost of the service

ABC Class

Use the drop-down list box to select the ABC Class analysis classification for the service. This analysis is based on the earlier consumption records of the service. The system displays the options “A”, “B” and “C” which represent the different levels of classification under which the service can be classified. The system also displays the option “None”.

Created By

The login ID of the user who defined the planning information of the service.

Created Date

The date on which the planning details were defined.

Last Modified by

The login ID of the user who last modified the planning information of the service.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the planning details were last modified.
