Selecting component work order for updating parts consumption
You can select the component work order for which you need to update the part, component or additional part details. Tell me more.
Select the "Report Parts Consumption" link under the “Component Work Reporting” business component.
The "Select Component Work Order" page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
Enter the following field in the "Direct Entry" group box:
Comp. Work Order # |
The number of the component work order for which the part consumption details are to be reported (Alphanumeric, 18). |
Select the "Report Parts Consumption" link at the bottom of the page, to enter the part consumption details.
To search for the component work order
Enter the following in the "Search Criteria" group box. Entry in the following fields is optional.
Comp. Work Order # |
The number of the component work order for which you need to update the consumption details (Alphanumeric, 18). You can specify the number in full or specify it partially using “*” wild card character. The system retrieves all the component work orders with the numbers similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of the component work order number. |
CWO Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the maintenance type. The system displays the values that are categorized as “Maintenance type” in the “Component Maintenance Type“ activity of the “Common Master” business component. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of the maintenance type. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Part # |
The part number of the component on which the component work order is generated (Alphanumeric, 40). You can specify the part number in full or specify it partially using “*” wild card character. The system retrieves all the component work orders generated on components with the part numbers similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of the part number. |
Component # |
The number that identifies the component on which the component work order for which you wish to update the consumption details was generated (Alphanumeric, 90). You can specify the number in full or specify it partially using “*” wild card character. The system retrieves all the component work orders with the component numbers similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of the component number. |
CWO Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the component work order category. The system displays the quick codes that are defined under “CWO category” and in “Active” status. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of the CWO category. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Work Center # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the number that identifies the work center. The system displays valid work center numbers, which are in “Active” status and for which you have been provided the access rights in the “Set Work Center – User Rights“ activity of the “Work Center” business component. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of the work center. The system sets the field blank by default. |
CWO Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the component work order, which could be “Scheduled”, “Inprogress” or “Completed”. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of the component work order status. The system sets the field blank by default. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user-defined status of the component work order. The system lists the ‘active’ quick codes that are defined as “User Status” in the “Component Work Order” business component. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of the user status. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Job Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the job type of the component work order. The system displays the following options:
The system retrieves details of component work orders that belong to the selected job type. |
Make/Piece Part # |
The number of the fabricated/piece part attached to the component on which the work order is generated (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the make/piece part number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work orders created for the make/piece part numbers that are similar to the number entered here. |
Work Scope # |
The number identifying the work scope associated with the component work order for which you wish to update the consumption details (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the work scope number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work orders created for the work scope numbers that are similar to the number entered here. |
CWO Priority |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate the priority of the component work order for which you wish to update the consumption details. The drop-down list displays all priority numbers in both Active and Inactive status, defined in the Common Masters component. The system displays component work orders with the priority that you specify here. |
Planned Date: From |
The starting date in the range of dates, to display the details of the component work orders that have scheduled dates on or after the entered date (Date Format). |
Planned Date: To |
The ending date in the range of dates, to display the details of the component work orders that have scheduled dates on or before the entered date (Date Format). |
Click the "Search" pushbutton, to search for the component work order.

The part number of the component on which the component work order is generated. |

The serial number of the component on which the CWO is generated. |

The job type of the component work order for which you wish to update the consumption details. |
The system displays the following details in the multiline, if the job type of the component work order is selected as “Make” or “Piece Part”: |

The number of the fabricated/piece part attached to the component on which CWO is generated. |

The textual description of the fabricated/piece part. |
CWO Status |
The status of the component work order, which could be “In-Progress”, “Scheduled” or “Completed”. |
CWO Category |
The category to which the component work order belongs. |
CWO Priority |
The priority assigned for execution of the component work order. |
Work Scope # |
The number identifying the work scope for which the component work order is created. |
Note: If a CWO is temporarily on "hold" and the "Allow reporting of component work orders that are on "hold" option is set to "No", then the system will not retrieve "held" component work orders.

Select the "Report Parts Consumption" link at the bottom of the page, to enter the part consumption details.
Select the "Report Components Consumption" link at the bottom of the page, to update the component consumption details.
Select the "Report Additional Items" link at the bottom of the page, to update the additional parts consumption details.
Select the “Report Backflushed Part Information” link at the bottom of the page, to update details of backflushed parts.
Select the “Return Core/Main Core/Excess Return” link at the bottom of the page, to create returns based on component work order or technical log.
Selecting component work order for updating parts consumption - An overview
You can select the component work order for which you need to update the part, component or additional part consumption details. If you know the component work order number, you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on filter criteria, such as component work order number, CWO type, CWO category, work center number, CWO Status, User Status and a range of planned dates. The system displays the component work order details that match the search filter criteria.
