Reporting parts consumption for the task or component work order
This page allows you to update parts consumed for a task or component work order. Tell me more.
Select the "Report Parts Consumption" link in the "Select Component Work Order” page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked component work order number in the multiline of the same page.
The "Report Parts Consumption Information" page appears.
The system displays the following in the “CWO Details” group box:
Comp. Work Order # |
The component work order selected in the previous page. |
Component # |
The number that identifies the component on which the CWO is generated. |
CWO Description |
The textual description of the component. Zoom facility available. |
Part # |
The part number of the component on which the CWO is generated. |
Serial # |
The serial number of the component on which the CWO is generated. |
Work Center # |
The number that identifies the work center where the task is executed. |
Enter the following field:
Task # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the task for which the part details must be retrieved for reporting. The system displays the task numbers (along with the sequence number) that are associated with the component work order, which are in “Scheduled”, “In Progress” or “Completed” status. Leave this field blank to retrieve details of the parts consumed or issued directly against the CWO. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton
to retrieve the part details for the selected task.
The system displays the following:
Task Description |
The textual description of the task. Zoom facility available. |
The system displays the following in the “Part Consumption Details” multiline:
Issue Part # |
The part number that is reported as consumed earlier or has been issued against the selected task or CWO. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part issued or consumed. |
UOM |
The unit of measurement for the part issued or consumed. |
Note: Reporting should be done in the UOM in which the issue happens.
Est. Qty. |
The quantity estimated against the task or CWO. |
Enter the following field:
Used Qty. |
The quantity of parts that has been consumed against the task/CWO (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure this is a positive value and not greater than the value displayed in the “Issued Quantity” field. |
The system displays the following:
Issue Qty. |
The quantity of parts issued against the corresponding task or component work order. |
Stock Status |
The stock status of the part. |
Pending Return Qty. |
The quantity of parts, which are pending, to be returned to the warehouse. |
Return Qty. |
The quantity of parts returned to the warehouse. |
If the “Job Type” of the component work order is selected as “Component”, the system displays values in the following fields:
Returned Qty. - Core |
The quantity of parts that are issued as core returnables against the component work order and pending for return. |
Returned Qty. – Excess |
The difference between the issued quantity and consumed quantity of parts issued as non-returnable against the component work order. |
Note: If the “Job Type” of the component work order is selected as “Make”, the excess return quantity is calculated with respect to the parts that are issued as non-returnable and core-returnable against the component work order.
If the job type of the component work order is “Piece Part”, the system updates the “Pending Return Quantity” with the serial number and lot number details, if available.
The system updates the issued part number and serial number combination as excess returns, if the issued part, of type “Component” and issue basis “Non-Returnable”, is not consumed.
Issue Basis |
The basis on which the part is issued against the component work order. |

The warehouse from which the parts were issued. |
Check the box in the "Select" column of the multiline to mark the part to view the part or part transaction details.
Click the “Report Parts Consumption” pushbutton, to update the part consumption details.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Record Part Fitment” link record the spare parts details.
Note: You can record the spare part fitment details only for parts that are either “Serial Controlled” or “Lot Controlled”.
Select the "Report Additional Items" link at the bottom of the page, to update the additional parts consumption details.
Select the “View Part Transaction” link, to view the inventory transactions on the part.
Select the “View Part # Details” link, to view the part number details.
Select the “View CWO Details” link, to view the component work order details.

Reporting parts consumption for the task or component work order - An overview
This page allows you to update parts consumed for a task or component work order, which is in “Scheduled” “Inprogress” or “Completed” status. You can select a task number to retrieve the consumption details already reported. The system displays details such as part number, description, unit of measurement, estimated quantity, issued quantity, used quantity, returned quantity and the warehouse from where the part is issued.
You can mark a part displayed in the mulitline, to view the transaction details for the part like issue, return etc.

Report quantity of parts used for a component work order or task
You can specify the quantity of parts used for a component work order or a task. You can specify the task for which you need to report the part consumption.
Select the task for which you wish to report the part consumption details, in the “Task #” field.
On clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton, the system retrieves the part details in the multiline.
Enter the quantity of parts consumed, in the “Used Quantity” field of the “Part Consumption Details” multiline.
Click the “Report Parts Consumption” pushbutton to update the parts consumption.
