Defining factor at pricing element level

Revising part price list - A summary of the activity

 Select the “Factored Pricing” tab in the “Manage Part Pricelist” activity in the “Part Pricelist” business component.

Note: The system displays this tab only if the process parameter “Definition of Price factor details in Part Pricelist” for the parameter “Part Pricelist” in the “Set Sales Process Parameters” activity of the “Customer” business component is set as “Required” or “Specific Pricelist”.

Note: Date entry in this tab page is not required if rules are defined in the “Pricing Profile” tab page.

The factored pricing is defined for a pricing element with the combination of attributes. The Price factor is specified and the Reference Pricelist type on which the Price Factor needs to be applied.

Pricing Criteria

Use the drop-down list box to specify the pricing criteria for the pricing elements for which more than one combination of pricing is defined in the factored pricing. Data Selection in this field is mandatory if more than one pricing combination is defined for a pricing element for regular type of pricelist.

  • Max Attribute Match - Indicates that the price defined against the combination with maximum number of attributes must be considered for processing of price.

  • Processing Sequence - Indicates the sequence that must be considered for processing of price.

By default the system leaves this field blank

Multiple Criteria Match

Use the drop-down list box to specify the price to be considered when there are multiple pricing combinations with different prices. Data selection in this field is mandatory if “Max Parameter Match” is selected as the “Pricing Criteria” for regular type of pricelist.

The system lists the following options if “Max Attribute Match” is specified as the “Pricing Criteria”:

  • Pick Lower Price - Indicates that the lowest price, from among the combinations with the same no. of attributes matches, will be considered for processing of price.

  • Pick Higher Price - Indicates the highest price, from among the combinations with the same no. of attributes matches, will be considered for processing of price.

  • Return No Price - Indicates that no price, from among the combinations with the same no. of attributes matches, will be considered for processing of price.

Pricing Element

Use the drop-down list box to specify the pricing element for which price is being defined after considering the attributes assigned in the pricing profile. The system lists the following options if the Pricing Profile is defined for that Pricing Element:

  • Part Price - Indicates the price charged on the part.

  • Exchange Fee - Indicates the fee to be charged for exchange of parts.

  • Handling Fee - Indicates the fee to be charged for maintenance and service of customer–owned parts.

  • Buy Back - Indicates the price to be paid to the customer for the parts bought back from them.

By default the system leaves this field blank.

LLP?

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the estimated life of the part is limited (Life Limited Part). You can select from the options “Yes” and “No”.

Replacement Type

The type of replacement that can be carried out on the part.  The system lists the following options if for a given pricing element, “Yes” is selected as the applicability for the attribute type, “Replacement Type” in the “Pricing Profile” tab:

  • LRU – Line Replaceable Unit – Indicates that the part to be serviced can be replaced while in the assembly line.

  • SRU – Shop Replaceable Unit – Indicates that the part to be serviced can be replaced only when in the shop.

Part Type

Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the part for which pricing has to be defined. The system lists the following, if for a given pricing element, “Yes” is selected as the applicability for the attribute type, “Part Type” in the “Pricing Profile” tab:

All the values defined for the part type in the “Part Administration” business component.

You can select form the options, “Raw Material”, “Component”, “Expendable”, “Tool”, “Miscellaneous”, “Consumable”, and “Kit”.

Part Group

Use the drop-down list box to specify the code identifying the part group for which the pricing details must be recorded. The system lists the following if for a given pricing element, “Yes” is selected as the applicability for the attribute type, “Part Group” in the “Pricing Profile” tab:

All the active values created in the “Create Part Groups” activity of the “Part Administration” business component having the following settings:

  • “Controlled Group” set as “Yes”.

  • “Purpose” set as “Pricing”.

Ensure that the part group is already defined as “Controlled” part group with purpose as “Pricing” in the “Part Administration” business component and it is in “Active” status.

Part Classification

Use the drop down list box to classify the component part as ''Rotable'', ''Repairable'', ''Controllable'' or “None”.

Condition

Use the drop-down list box to select the condition of the part as: “New”, “New Surplus”, “Over Hauled”, “Phased-Out”, “Serviceable”

 or “UnServiceable”.

Stock Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the stock status of the part. The system lists the following:

  • All the “Active” stock statuses mapped to the Status Attribute “Ownership-Internal and Ownership-Customer” in the “Create User Defined Stock Status” activity of the “User Defined Stock Status” business component

  • All the stock statuses with the predefined transaction “Maintenance Issue” mapping set as “Yes” in the “Transaction Mapping” activity of the “User Defined Stock Status” business component.

By default the system leaves this field blank.

Prorated?

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether pricing has to be in proportion to its usage for life limited parts. Data selection in this field is mandatory if “LLP” is specified as “Yes”. The system lists the options:

  • Yes - Select this option if you wish to price based on the remaining life of the part only.

  • No - Select this option if you wish to price for the entire value of the part.

By default the system leaves this field blank.

Factored On

Use the drop-down list box to specify the reference Pricelist type or Part level Pricing basis. Price Factor is applied on the pricelist of this type. Data selection in this field is mandatory if a pricing element is specified in the “Factored Pricing” tab. You can select from the options:

  • Ref. Catalogue  – Select this option if you wish to price based on the internal pricelist.

  •  OEM Pricelist  - Select this option if you wish to price based on the  OEM Pricelist

  •  Part Level Pricing Basis - Select this option if you wish to price based on the part level pricing basis.

  • Pricelist with Max Price – Select this option if you wish to price based on the maximum price from the available pricelist.

By default the system leaves this field blank

Ref. Catalogue ID

Use the drop-down list box to specify  the pricelist is based on the reference catalogue ID pricelist eg. Internal pricelist or pricelist after a survey of the market. The system lists all the catalogues that are in “active” status as defied for the category type “Ref. Catalogue ID”  in the “Category” business component.

Ensure that a value is specified in this field if the “Regular” is selected as the “Pricing Type” and “Factored On” is selected with a value other than “Ref. Catalogue ID”.

Slab Definition For?

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether a slab is required for any of the following options:

  • Base Adj. Factor

  • Price Factor

  • Both

Base Adj. Factor

Adjustment of the base value of the price. Data entry in this field is mandatory if a pricing element is specified in the “Factored Pricing” tab multiline.

Ensure that the value specified in this field is a positive integer greater then 0.

Note that f no value is specified in this field, the system displays “1” .

Multiple Price Factor?

Use the drop-down list and select “Yes” if you wish to define different price factors for different pricelists in ‘Max. Price – Appl.  Pricelists’ tab. Else select “No”.

Price Factor

The price factor for a pricing combination of OEM or Part Level Pricing Basis. Data entry in this field is mandatory if a pricing element is specified in the “Factored Pricing” tab multiline.

The system displays the following fields

Factor Details

Indicates whether price factor has been defined for this document. This could be"Defined" or "Not Defined".

Price Factor On

Use the drop-down list box to specify the pricing method that is to be considered for the part. You can select from the options:

  • Price – Indicates that the price factor is applied after considering the Base Adjustment Factor as 1

  • Factored Price – Indicates that the price factor is applied after considering the Base Adjustment Factor

By default the system leaves this field blank.

Processing Seq.

 

The priority of the pricing combination for the pricing element. Data entry in this field is mandatory if Pricing Criteria is specified as “Processing Sequence” for pricing element with factored pricing defined for more than one pricing combination.

Ensure the following:

  • The value entered in this field is positive.

  • The processing sequence for a given pricing element must not be repeated.

The system displays the following fields

Effective Factor %

A system generated percentage of factor which is effective for the pricelist. Calculation of Effective %

Price Description

The textual description of the service pricelist.

Data entry in this field is mandatory:

  • For resource type with normal rate per hour.

  • If a value is specified in the “Price Factor” and “Pricing Element” fields.

Pricing Notes

Textual description of pricing combination for your reference.

Main Core - Part Group

Use the drop down list box to select the part group of the main core.Use the drop down list box to select the part group of the main core. The system lists all the Part Groups that are in “Active” status having the columns Controlled  set as 'Yes' and the “Purpose” as set as 'Pricing' in the “Create Part Groups” activity of the “Part Administration” business component. User Defined 1

Use the drop down list box to define any user specific attributes for defining price which is defined in the Category Master, with all the active category codes that are in Active status.

Base Value From

The starting range for the part price.
