Payroll General Information – An overview

This component is used to create, edit and view information on the attendance type, period unit, compensation frequency, garnishment setup etc. through the following activities that are briefly explained below.

Creating attendance type

This activity is used to define types of attendance that are applicable to the organization. Typical examples could be Regular and Overtime. Each attendance type must be uniquely defined with a code and description. Also the time from which the attendance type will be effective must be indicated.

Editing an attendance type  

This activity is used to modify an existing attendance type, and apply these modifications to the corresponding records in the other available languages.  The start and end date of the period for which the modifications will be effective can be indicated and this update can be mapped to various organization units.

Viewing attendance type

This activity is used to view the details of any attendance type record selected in any of the available languages.

Creating period unit

This activity is used to create period units and make it applicable to various organization units.

Modifying period unit

This activity is used to modify and delete an existing period unit.  These modifications can be applied to the corresponding records in the other available languages.  The modified period unit can be mapped to various organization units.

Viewing period unit

This activity is used to view the details of all the period units created for the selected payroll general information unit.

Creating garnishment setup

This activity is used to create a garnishment setup in an organization.  To create a garnishment setup a unique id and that identifies a garnishment setup has to be specified.

Editing garnishment setup

This activity is used to edit a garnishment setup in an organization.  To edit a garnishment setup, a unique id and short description that identifies a garnishment setup has to be specified.

Viewing garnishment setup

This activity is used to view a garnishment setup in an organization that has been created

Creating compensation frequency 

This activity is used to define a conversion matrix, to make it possible for the system to convert from one unit of time to another. This requirement arises because of the different units of time used for specifying compensation frequency and rated frequency.

Modifying compensation frequency 

This activity is used to modify all the details of the conversion table created, except for the Compensation Frequency code.

Viewing compensation frequency 

This activity is used to view the most recently updated details of a selected compensation frequency.

Mapping attendance booth-cost center

This activity is used to map an attendance booth to a cost center.  This activity is carried out to track the costs of each employee according to the cost center to which he or she is attached. It applies to only organizations that automate attendance recording through an ARS.

Viewing attendance booth-cost center

This activity is used to view the mapping of attendance booths to cost centers, for a specified organization unit group.
