Reporting unplanned tasks executed in a component work order
This page allows you to report and update any unplanned task executed. Tell me more.
Select the "Record Unplanned Task Reporting" link in the "Report Component Work Order Information" page.
The "Record Unplanned Task Reporting” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date and Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the "Enterprise Modeling" component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “CWO Details” group box:
Component Work Order # |
The number that identifies the component work order selected in the previous page. |
Note: The component work order should be in the “Scheduled”, “In-progress” or “Completed” status, and unplanned task reporting must be allowed.
Component # |
The number that identifies the component on which the CWO is generated. |
CWO Description |
The textual description of the component. Zoom facility available. |
Part # |
The part number of the component on which the CWO generated. |
Serial # |
The serial number of the component. |
Enter the following in the “Update Details” group box:
Default Start Date |
The default start date of the task (Date Format). Ensure this date is not later than the current system date or earlier than the scheduled start date for the task. |
Default Start Time |
The default start time of the task in the specified time format (Time Format). |
Default End Date |
The default end date of the task (Date Format). Ensure this date is not later than the current system date or earlier than the scheduled start date for the task. |
Default End Time |
The default end time of the task in the specified time format (Time Format). |
Note: If the date and time fields for the tasks are left blank in the multiline, the system sets the “Default Start Date”, “Default Start Time”, “Default End Date”, “Default End Time” in the respective multiline columns. This type of updation is done, when several tasks in the multiline have the same start date, start time, end date and end time.
Enter the following fields in the “Task Details” group box:
Task # |
The number identifying the task, which is reported as an unplanned task. The task should be in “Active status” for the period for which it is reported (Alphanumeric, 30). |

Work Center |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the work center where the unplanned task is executed. The system lists all the work centers associated with the selected component work order. The system sets the primary work center assigned to the selected component work order by default. |
Time Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the unit of measurement, which could be “Hours”, “Days” or “Minutes”, for the actual duration. The system sets “Hours” by default. |
Actual Duration |
Enter the actual time spent, in hours, days, or minutes, on the unplanned task (Decimal). |
Start Date |
The start date for the task in the specified date format (Date Format). The date should not be later than the current server date and earlier than the scheduled start date of the component work order to which the task belongs. |
Start Time |
The start time of the task in the specified time format (Time Format). |
End Date |
The end date for the task in the specified date format (Date Format). This date should not be later than the current server date and earlier than the value entered in the “Back Dated Reporting Time Limit” in the “Set Options” activity, for the component work order to which the task belongs. |
End Time |
The end time of the task in the specified time format (Time Format). |
Comments |
Any additional comments pertaining to the unplanned task (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Check the box in the "Select" column of the multiline, to select the unplanned task details for updation.
Click the hyperlinked task description in the multiline to view task information.
Click the “Report Unplanned Tasks” pushbutton, to update the modified details.
Note: The system updates the unplanned task details and changes the status of the component work order to “In-progress”, if it is “Scheduled”. Also, the system updates the planning status for the task as “Unplanned”, and the expense type of the task being added as the expense type of the CWO.
If the “Job Type” of the component work order is selected as “Component”, then the system ensures that the component for which the component work order is generated, is in “Unserviceable” condition and it is not attached to any aircraft.
The system performs the following on clicking the “Record Unplanned Tasks” pushbutton:
For customer based work orders, the system updates the task authorization status based on the following conditions:
Updates the status as “Not Required”, if the “Authorization of Work Order” field is set as “Not Required” in the “Set Options” activity of the “Component work Order” business component, and if the “Approval of Additional Work Scope” field is set to “Not Required” in the “Customer Order” business component.
Updates the status as “Pending Customer Authorization”, if the “Authorization of Work Order” is set as “Not Required in the “Set Options” activity of the “Component Work Order” business component and if the “Approval of Additional Work Scope” field is set as either “Required” or “As Required” in the “Customer Order” business component
Updates the status as “Pending Authorization”, if the “Authorization of Work Order” is set as “Required”, irrespective of the value set in the “Approval of Additional work Scope” field.
For work orders that are not customer based, the system performs the following:
Updates the authorization status of the task as “Pending Authorization”, if the “Authorization of Work Order” field is set as “Required” in the “Set Options” activity of the “Component work Order” business component.
Updates the status of the task as “Not Required”, if the “Authorization of Work Order” field is set as “Not Required” in the “Set Options” activity of the “Component work Order” business component.
Adds the newly generated task to CWO in “Fresh” status, if the authorization status of the work unit is set as “Required” or “Pending Customer Authorization”. If the authorization status of the work unit is set as “Not Required”, then the system adds the task in the status as that of the CWO.
If the task # is added to a CWO that has customer order reference, and if the athorization status of the task being added is in either “Pending Customer Authorization” or “Not Required”, then the system updates the Work Unit information corresponding to the CWO to the customer order.
If the task being added to the CWO is in “Scheduled” status and if the expense type of the CWO is “Capital”, then the system updates the committed amount corresponding to the CAPEX proposal number in the “Asset Planning” business component.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Report Parts Consumption” link, to update the part consumption details for the unplanned task.
Select the "Report Component Consumption” link, to update the component consumption details for the unplanned task.
Select the “ Report Additional Parts” link, to update the additional part consumption details for the unplanned task.
Select the “Report Resource Actuals” link, to update the resource actuals for the unplanned task.
Select the “Record Employee Actuals” link, to update the employee actuals for the unplanned task.
Reporting unplanned tasks executed in a component work order - An overview
This page allows you to report and update any unplanned task executed, which was not planned during the scheduling phase of the component work order. You can update information, such as the task number and description of the unplanned task, work center number where the unplanned task is executed and the actual duration of time spent on the task. In this page, you can also update the start and end date and time and any additional comments regarding the unplanned task.

If a large number of tasks are listed in the multiline, it is time consuming to enter the date and time for each individual task. In such cases, you can enter the default start date and time and the default end date and time, applicable for all the tasks. The system updates the date and time fields of the tasks in the multiline, for which the date and time fields are blank, with the default values.
This type of updation is useful in situations where a large number
of tasks have the same start date and time and same end date and time.
Enter the start date and time of the task in the “Default Start Date” and “Default Start Time” fields.
Enter the end date and time of the task in the “Default End Date” and “Default End Time” fields.
Enter the unplanned task details in the multiline. You can leave the date and time fields blank.
On clicking the “Report Unplanned Tasks” pushbutton, the system updates the date and time fields of the tasks, which are left blank in the multiline, with the default values.
Specify the work center in which the unplanned task is executed
In order to complete the component work order, you might have to execute certain unplanned tasks, which are not originally part of the component work order. You can specify the work center in which these unplanned tasks are executed.
Select the work center in which the unplanned task is executed, from the “Work Center” drop-down list box of the “Task Details” multiline.
