This activity allows you to put documents and tasks on hold for a particular duration. Tell me more.

The “Record Work Hold” page appears.

The system displays the following field:

Date & Time Format

The format in which the date and time fields must be entered. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID.

In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default.

Exec. Doc. #

Use the drop-down list box to select the execution document for which you wish to retrieve work hold details in the multiline. Mandatory.

  • A/C Maint. Exe. Ref. # - Select this option if you wish to retrieve work hold details of AME and tasks in the AME package.

  • Shop Work Order # - Select this option if you wish to retrieve details of CO, SWO, tasks based on the shop work orders.

By default the system leaves this field blank

 

In the box alongside, enter a value corresponding to the type of execution document selected. You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all Exec. Doc # numbers that are similar to the number entered here.

Customer Order #

The number identifying the customer order for which you wish to retrieve work hold details in the multiline.

Maint. Object

Use the drop-down list box to select the maintenance object against which you wish to retrieve work hold details. The system lists the following options:

  • Aircraft Reg. #

  • Part # / Serial #

  • Component #

 

In the editable boxes alongside enter a value corresponding to the maintenance object selected. You can enter the value in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all work order numbers that are similar to the number entered here.

Note that an additional edit box is displayed alongside to enter the serial #, if the value “Part # / Serial #” is selected.

Task # / Description

The unique code identifying the task for which the work hold details are to be retrieved / A textual description of the task for which the work hold details are to be retrieved. You can enter the value in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all tasks put on hold having task number similar to the number entered here/ tasks put on hold having descriptions that are similar to the description entered here.

Customer # / Name

The unique code identifying the customer for whom the customer order is created. / The name of the customer.

 

In the editable box alongside, enter the name corresponding to the customer number entered.  You can enter the name in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the direct and indirect work holds associated with the customers that are similar to the value entered here.

Exec. Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the execution status of the following options for which you wish to retrieve work hold details in the multiline.

  • Task

  • Order

By default the system leaves this field blank.

 

In the drop-down list box alongside, select the corresponding status of the task / order as selected.  The system lists the values as follows:

When “Aircraft Maint. Exe. Ref #” is selected as the “Exec. Doc #”

  • If “Task” is specified as the “Exec. Status”  the system lists the options: "Closed "Completed", “Cancelled”, Deferred”. “Fresh”, “In-complete, "In-Progress”, "Pre closed”  and “Planned".

  • If “Order” is specified as the “Exe. Status”, the system lists the options: "Closed “, "Completed", “Cancelled”, “Fresh”, “In-Progress", and Planned".

When “Shop Work Order #” is selected as the Exec. Doc #:

  • If “Task” is specified as the “Exec. Status”, the system lists the options: “Draft”, “Fresh”, “Planned”, “in-Progress”, “Completed”, “Closed”, “Pre-Closed”, “Cancelled, “Duplicate”,  and “Ext. Routed”

  • If “Order” is specified as the “Exe. Status”, the system lists the options: “Draft”, “Fresh”, “Planned”, “in-Progress”, “Completed”, “Cancelled”, “Closed”, “Pre-Closed”,  and “Ext. Routed”.

Hold Code

The hold code associated to customer orders, shop work orders and tasks for which you wish to retrieve details in the multiline.  More..

Responsible Function

Use the drop-down list box to specify the authority responsible for putting the work hold, the details of which you wish to retrieve in the multiline

  • Initiating - Select this option to indicate the authority responsible for initialing work hold.

  • Releasing - Select this option to indicate the authority responsible for releasing the work hold.

By default the system leaves this field blank.

 

In the drop-down list box alongside, select the value corresponding to the “Responsible Function” selected.

  • Commercial - Indicates that the hold is initiated or released by the commercial authority.

  • Planning - Indicates that the hold is initiated or released by the planning authority like for eg. The planner while creating the work order.

  • Execution - Indicates that the hold is initiated or released by the execution authority like for e.g. the lead mechanic / supervisor

Pending Release by

Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the person authorized to release a hold. The system lists all the roles that have already been defined in the login OU company.

By default the system leaves this field blank.

Search On

Use the drop-down list box to select one of the following hold code attributes based on which you wish to retrieve work hold details in the multiline.

  • Hold Category - Indicates the category to which the hold belongs.

  • Hold Comments - Indicates the comments given while putting a task on hold.

  • Release Comments – Indicates the comments given on releasing a hold.

  • Event # - Indicates the event number for the shop work order..

By default the system leaves this field blank.

 

In the editable box alongside, enter a value corresponding to the “Search On” selected for which you wish to retrieve work hold details. You can enter the value in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the records that have values similar to the value entered here.

Addl. Search On

Use the drop-down list box to select one of the following based on which you wish to retrieve the details in the multiline.

When “Aircraft Maint. Exe. Ref. #” is specified as the “Exec. Doc. #” the system lists the following options:

  • Work Center - Select this option if you wish to retrieve details based on the work center number.

When “Shop Work Order #” is specified as the “Exec. Doc. #” the system lists the following options:

  • Work Center - Select this option if you wish to retrieve details based on the work center number.

  • Job Type - Select this option if you wish to retrieve details based on the job type of a shop work order.

Note that the system will not list “Job Type” as one of the options if the “Execution Doc #” is “A/C Maint. Exe. Ref.” or is left blank and the Maint. Object is specified as “Aircraft Reg #”.

By default the system leaves this field blank.

 

In the drop-down list box alongside, select the options corresponding to the item selected in the “Addl. Search On” drop-down list box. The system lists the options as follows:

  • If “Work Center #” is selected as the “Addl. Search On”, the system lists all the work centers as defined in the “Create Work Center” activity of the “Work Center” business component.

  • If  “Job Type” is selected as the “Addl. Search On”:, the system lists job types such as “Engine”, “Component”, “Piece Part”, “Make”, “Facility”, “Project” and “Miscellaneous”.  

Held Date: From / To

The starting date in which the tasks including ongoing tasks have been put on hold.  

 

The ending date within which the tasks including ongoing tasks have been put on hold. The system retrieves all the AME, COs, and SWOs that has tasks on hold on or after the Held From` date and on or before the Held To date.

Record Work Hold – An Overview

Record Work Hold - A summaty of the activity

In this activity, you can record the hold details for a document or a task and can also retrieve hold details that are previously defined. You can record hold details such as hold code associated to the ’hold’, duration of hold, permitted delay duration associated ESR # & EAN # etc. Only those tasks that are in “Planned” and “In-Progress” statuses can be put on hold.

You can also release the documents and tasks that are ‘held’, by specifying the “To Date & Time” or “Duration”.
