Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

In this tab page, you can record the hold details for a document or a task /shop work order and can also retrieve hold details that are previously defined. You can record hold details such as hold code associated to the ’hold’, duration of hold, permitted delay duration. Only those tasks that are in “Fresh”, “Planned” and “In-Progress”, ”Completed” statuses can be put on hold.

Note: The system allows modification of details of records only for fields other than the Exec. Doc Type, Exec. Doc#, seq #, Task#, and Hold Code.

Note: Ensure that the work order or task for which you wish to create or modify work hold details is not in any of the following statuses: Cancelled, Preclosed, Closed, or External Routed.

Exe. Order Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the execution document for which you wish to record work hold details. Mandatory.

  • A/C Maint. Exe. Ref. # - Select this option if you wish to record work hold details of AME and tasks in the AME package.

  • Shop Work Order # - Select this option if you wish to record work hold details of CO, SWO, tasks based on the shop work orders.

The system displays “Shop Work Order” by default.

Exec. Order #

The number identifying the execution order for which you wish to record work hold details.

Ensure that the number specified in this field is a valid Exec. Order # for the given Exe. Order Type.

Seq #

The sequence number of the task.

Ensure that the number entered in this field is a valid task sequence number for the given execution order number.

Task #

The unique code identifying the task for which the hold details are to be updated. (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. The number entered in this field must be a valid task number as defined in the “Maintenance Task” business component.

Ensure that the number entered in this field is a valid task number for the given executive order number.

Note: The task and sequence number provided must be a valid combination.

The system displays the followings fields in the multiline:

Task Description

A brief description of the task for which you wish to record hold details.

Customer Order #

The number identifying the customer order associated with the task for which hold details is to be updated.

Hold Code

Use the drop-down list to specify the hold code Mandatory. The system lists all the active hold codes for which the Process Parameter “Initiation Level” is set as “Execution” and planning in the “Set Process Parameters” page of the “Common Masters” business component. Hold Code defines the characteristic of the ‘hold’. More..

Hold Comments

Any additional information pertaining to the hold. Mandatory.

From Date & Time

The date and time from which the document or the task must be put on hold. (Date & Time Format).

To Date & Time

The date and time until which the document or the task must be put on hold. (Date & Time Format). If this date and time is specified, the task will be released from hold

Note: The date and time specified in the two fields above or in the “Default Details” group box, must be earlier than or equal to current date and time.

From Date & Time Calculation

Example:

Task T1 is put on hold at station “Bahrain International Airport”

Station Time Zone – 2 hours behind server time zone

Current Server Date / Time in India – 12-Jan-2010 / 9.00

From Date & Time entered by user from the Bahrain International Airport (Station)

Conversion to server date / time available in India

Current server Date & Time + 2 hours time difference

12-Jan-2012 / 9.00

12-Jan-2012 / 11.00

In this example, the system displays error message as the converted date and time is later than the current server date and time.

Duration

The time period for which the hold has been delayed – delay duration.

Note: If “To Date & Time” is not specified, the sum of “From Date & Time” and “Duration” must be earlier than or equal to the current date and time.

Time Unit

Use the drop-down list box and select the time unit as “Hours”, “Minutes” or “Days”. Data selection in this field is mandatory, if the duration is specified.

The system displays “Hours” by default.

Release Comments

Any comments related to the release made on a particular hold. Mandatory.

Delayed?

Use the drop-down list box to specify the basis on which the turn around time is calculated. The turn around time is defined as the time spent on each task.

  • Yes – Select this option to indicate that the duration in which task is put on hold, may not considered for calculating the turn around time.

  • No – Select this option to indicate that the duration is not considered for calculating the turn around time.

The system leaves the field blank, by default.

Response By

The name of the login user who has given response for a particular hold on task

Response Date & Time

The date and time at which the response is made for the hold.

Response Comments

Any comments related to the response for a hold.

The system displays the followings fields in the multiline:

Hold Category

The category of the hold code.

Hold Level

The level of the hold put on the task or work order which could be task level, execution order level and customer order level.

Initiated By

The code identifying the person responsible for initialing work hold.

Released By

The code identifying the person responsible for releasing the work hold.

The system displays the followings fields in the multiline:

Customer #

The number identifying the customer associated with the hold.

Customer Name

The name of the customer associated with the hold.

Order Description

The textual description of the customer order.

Created Date & Time

The date and time at which the record was created.

Last Modified Date & Time

The date and time at which the record was last modified.

Note: Ensure that at least one record is selected in the multiline.

Note: You cannot delete the records which have been put on hold.

The system updates the following on clicking the “Record Work Hold pushbutton:

  1. If the process parameter “Hold Escalation Level” in the “Set Process Parameters” activity of the “Common Master” business component is set as “Task”, only the tasks in that work order is put on hold.

  2. If the process parameter “Hold Escalation Level” in the “Set Process Parameters” activity of the “Common Master” business component is set as “Execution Order’, only the work order and the associated tasks in the work order is put on hold.

  3. If the process parameter “Hold Escalation Level” in the “Set Process Parameters” activity of the “Common Masters” business component is set as “Customer Order’, the direct hold on task and derived hold on packages and all other tasks in the work order / customer order. is put on hold.

If Exe. Order Type for is set as "A/C Maint. Exe. Ref. #" for the selected record, if the Aircraft Reg. # corresponding to the entered Exe. Ref. # is offline in main base, ensure that:

  1. Source of Exe. Ref. # is set as "Online" (or)

  2. Source of Exe. Ref. # is set as "Offline"; status of Exe. Ref. # is "Completed" and ‘Closure of Completed Packages’ is set as “Online” in the “Configurator” business component.

If Exe. Order Type for the selected record is set as "A/C Maint. Exe. Ref. #", ensure that the Aircraft Reg. # corresponding to A/C Maint. Exe. Ref. # is offline.

If Exe. Order Type for the selected record is set as "A/C Maint. Exe. Ref. #", utilization of holds are allowed only if "Allow utilization of Holds for Offline Usage" is set as "Allowed" in the “Configurator” business component.

The system allows application of holds only on:

  1. Offline packages in “Planned” / “In-progress” status.

  2. Offline packages in “Completed” status having data transferred flag set as "No" and ‘Closure of Completed Packages’ set as "Online" in the “Configurator” business component.

  3. Offline packages in “Completed” status with 'Closure of Completed Packages' option set as “Offline”.
