Set Default Payset Mapping - A summary of the activity
The “Payroll Parameters” page: In the “Payroll Parameters” page, you must have defined the specific basis on which employees are to be mapped to a given payset. The basis could be one of the following: Grade, Grade set, Employment Unit, Job or Business Unit.
The “Set Default Payset Mapping” page: For example, “Grade” could be the basis that was defined in the “Payroll Parameters” page. You are to enter the “Set Default Payset Mapping” page, and enter the specific grade based upon which employees must be mapped to a specific payset. Using the example above, you could map Grade 1 to Payset-Directors, Grade 2 to Payset-Exec and Grade 3 to Payset-HR.
Implication: After you map a specific grade to a specific payset, the system will automatically map all employees in the specified grade to the payset. This is carried out after the employee’s assignment is created in Employee Induction. In this example, all employees in Grade 2 will be mapped Payset-Exec, all employees in Grade 1 to Payset-Directors and all employees in Grade 3 to Payset-HR
Violations Allowed: The system provides you the choice of overwriting the basis on which employees are mapped to a payset. You can specify whether violations are allowed or not allowed.
Using the example above, you can map an employee in Grade 2 to Payset-HR, after specifying that violations are allowed. During payroll processing, the system will map the employee to Payset-HR, although his grade entitles him to be mapped to Payset-Exec.
