COBRA Acceptance: Through this activity, you can enroll an employee in the COBRA Acceptance plan. COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985) provides the right to temporarily continue enjoying coverage under a group health plan at group rates. This indicates that under the act, an employee, his/her spouse or dependant children etc., can continue enjoying the benefits of enrollment for a specified period even after the employee leaves the organization. The provisions of COBRA apply only when specific criteria are met.

Select a plan for COBRA acceptance for which enrollment must be made.
Specifying an employee who has to be enrollment.
Specifying the program to which the COBRA plan is mapped.
The qualifying event, which entitles the employee for enrollment in the cobra, enabled plans. The qualifying events can be instances like “termination other than gross misconduct”, “death”, “loss of dependent child status” etc.
The acceptance date, which is the date from which the enrollment in the plan must take effect
The various COBRA enabled plans include plans like, “Group Health Plans”, which comprises, insured health plans, self-insured health plans, HMOs, medical reimbursement features of cafeteria plans, dental plans, vision plans and many employee assistance programs ("EAPs" health plans, self insured health plans, medical plans).
