Recording warehouse information – An overview

Create Warehouse Information - A summary of the activity

You can enter a unique number to identify the warehouse and provide description for it. The storage type of the warehouse can be “Normal” or “Free”. The warehouse with “Normal” storage type can be further divided into zones and bins for storing a variety of parts. This type of warehouse helps to store the parts in a structured manner, which also helps in traceability of parts. The parts can be stored in bulk in the warehouse if the storage type is “Free”. You can also select the category to which the warehouse belongs.

The address details along with the country, to which the warehouse belongs, can also be specified. You can enter the employee number of the warehouse in-charge, who is responsible for controlling all the transactions that take place in the warehouse.

You can also specify whether all the part types, transactions and part statuses are allowed in the warehouse. The system assigns the “Active” status as soon as the warehouse is defined and sets the creation date and time to the server date and time. You should ensure that the warehouse number is unique for the organizational unit, depending on the system parameter settings for storage administration defined in the “Logistics Common Master” business component.
