Create Aircraft Work Package – A summary of the activity
This activity enables you to define a work package. A work package contains a set of tasks and procedures to be executed together, to carry out a maintenance activity. You can allocate resources and specify the parts required to carry out the work package, besides the parts and resources allocated for the individual tasks and procedures included in the work package. Routine aircraft maintenance activities such as daily and weekly inspections and major checks can be configured as standard work packages.
Work packages offer the following benefits:
Schedules can be tracked at a work package level, instead of at the individual task or procedure level. Thus, configuring and maintaining a routine maintenance program becomes easier.
Tasks and procedures executed by different work centers can be included in a work package.
You are provided with the option of creating a work package without associating tasks or procedures. This enables you to use it later as a standard work package across aircraft models, with different tasks or procedures for the different models and types of the aircraft. For example, the standard work package “Daily Check” can be used for Boeing 737-400 and Boeing 737-800 with a different set of tasks for each of these models.
