Select the “Create Facility Object” link under the “Facility Management” business component.
The "Create Facility Object Record" page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date field is displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
Enter the following in the “Facility Details” group box.
Facility Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the facility object you want to create. Mandatory. The system lists one of the following values: Tool, Equipment, and Others. “Equipment” is an identifiable unit of the machinery that aids in the performance of maintenance tasks on an aircraft and its components. Some examples are lathe, shaper and landing gear bottle jack. “Tools” are those items that are similar to torque gauge and hydraulic test rigs. Items, such as hangars, that cannot be grouped as “Equipment” or “Tools” can be classified as “Others”. |
The system displays the following.
Facility Object # Generation Mode |
The method used for the generation of facility object, which can be manual or automatic. |
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for the facility object you want to modify.
Part # |
The part reference to the facility object you want to modify. You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves the part numbers having the digits entered here. |
Part Description |
The name or description of the part reference of the facility object you want to modify. You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves the descriptions having the characters entered here. |
Lot # |
The lot number of the part reference of the facility object you want to modify. You can enter the lot number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves the lot numbers having the digits entered here. |
Serial # |
The serial number of the part reference of the facility object you want to modify. You can enter the serial number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves the serial numbers having the digits entered here. |
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the part type of the facility object you want to modify. The system displays the part types defined in Part Administration component, which include are Raw Material, Component, Expendable, Tool, Miscellaneous, Consumables and Kit. The system retrieves all the parts associated with the part type selected here. Leave this field blank to retrieve parts of all the part types. |
Part Category |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the classification of the part reference for the facility object you want to modify. The system lists all the quick codes defined in the Part Administration component. The system retrieves all the parts classified under the part category selected here. Leave this field blank to retrieve parts of all part categories. |
Exe. Work Center # |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the maintenance execution work center for the facility object you want to modify. The system lists all the work centers defined in the Work Center business component with Active status. The system retrieves all the facility objects associated with the execution work center selected here. Leave this field blank to retrieve facility objects for all execution work centers. |
Holding Tool Crib # |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the holding tool crib for the facility object you want to modify. The system lists all the warehouses defined in the Storage Administration business component with Active status for which Tool Operations Transaction flag is set to “Yes”. The system retrieves all the facility objects associated with the holding tool crib selected here. Leave this field blank to retrieve facility objects for all holding tool cribs. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
Note: If the process parameter “Facility Object creation for a Non-Serialized Part” under the category Facility Management in the Set Inventory Process Parameters activity of Logistics Common Master is ‘0’, the search does not retrieve None-Controlled and Lot-Controlled parts in the Search Results multiline. However, if “Facility Object creation for a Non-Serialized Part” is ‘1’, the search is not affected by part control type.

Facility Object # |
The identification number for the facility object. Mandatory. |
Note: If the Facility Object # Generation Code is Manual, the user is allowed to enter the facility object number. However, if this flag is set to Automatic, the Facility Object # is generated either based on the facility type or the component ID. The Component ID is used as the Facility Object # for parts of part type “Component” as defined in the “Set Options” activity.
Part # |
The part reference for the facility object. Help facility available |
Serial # |
The system generated serial number of the part. This field is mandatory if you have specified the Part # field. This field is mandatory if you have specified the part #. The serial # must be unique for the facility object that you wish to create. Help facility available |
Lot # |
The system generated lot number of the part. Help facility available |
Manufacturer Serial # |
The serial number for the part as maintained by the manufacturer. Note: The part #/manufacturer serial # must be unique for the serial #. |

Condition |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the condition of the facility object, Mandatory. The system displays the following:

Note: 1) If the condition for the Part – Serial/Lot combination is already defined in the Stock Maintenance table, then on Search the defined value is displayed by default. Otherwise the system displays blank by default. 2) The condition for the Part – Serial/Lot combination cannot be modified to “New”, if it was already defined in the Stock Maintenance table as "Serviceable", "Overhauled", or "Unserviceable". 3) Any Part – Serial combination in Phased-out condition retrieved in the multiline. |

Ownership |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of ownership of the facility object. The system lists the following values: Owned, Personal, Supplier and Customer. |
Customer # |
The identification number of the customer, who owns the facility object. This field is mandatory, if you have selected “Customer” in the “Ownership” field. The specified customer must be defined in the Customer business component. Help facility available |
Supplier # |
The identification number of the supplier, who owns the facility object. This field is mandatory, if you have selected “Supplier” in the “Ownership” field. The specified supplier must be defined in the Supplier business component. Help facility available |
Employee # |
The identification number of the employee, who owns the facility object. This field is mandatory, if you have selected “Personal” in the “Ownership” field. Help facility available |
Administered By |
Use the drop-down list box to select the entity that administers the maintenance of the facility object. The system displays the values: "Facility Maint. Coordinator", "Holding Work Center", "Execution Work Center" and "Tool Crib". |
Planner Group |
The planner group that manages the maintenance of the facility object. This field is mandatory if you have selected “Facility Maint. Coordinator” in the “Administered By” field. Help facility available |
Admin. Tool Crib # |
The tool crib that administers the maintenance of the facility object. This field is mandatory if you have selected “Admn. Tool Crib"” in the “Administered By” field. |
Held By |
The custodian of the facility object. The system lists one of the following values: “Tool Crib", "Work Center" and "Employee". Mandatory. |
Holding Work Center # |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the work center that manages the maintenance of the facility object. This field is mandatory if “Holding Work Center” is selected in the “Administered By” field. |
Held By Employee # |

Cost Center # |

Service Area |
The area where the facility can be used for maintenance jobs. This field is mandatory if a holding work center is specified. |
Rate / Hr |
The amount charged for using the facility object for an hour. The field beside displays the currency. |
Facility # |
The identification number of the facility. Help facility available Note: Facilities are unique identifiers of equipment or any other items required by the maintenance personnel to execute maintenance activities in an aircraft. Facility can be of type “Equipment”, “Tools” or “Others”. |
Facility Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the facility for which you wish to create a facility object. The drop-down list box displays all Active quick codes defined under the quick code type Facility Category in the Work Center component. |
Part Type |
The part type of the facility object. The system displays one of the following values: “Raw Material”, “Component”, “Expendable”, “Tool”, “Miscellaneous”, “Consumables” and “Kit”. The part types are defined in the Part Administration business component. |
Owning Agency Name |
The name of the entity that owns / controls the facility object. |
Holding Tool Crib # |
The identification number of the warehouse with Tool Operations Transactions flag set to “Yes”. |

Check the box preceding the record you wish to save/record, in the multiline.
Click the “Create Facility Object” pushbutton to save the details.
Note:
Any new component resulting from the creation of a facility object is marked for technical records update, if the facility object is administered by a tool crib and, the tool crib is a warehouse mapped to the “Tech Records Queue - New Components” transaction.

Select the "View Associated Doc. Attachments" link to view any associated document already uploaded for facility object.

Select the “Edit Facility Object Details” link.
The “Edit Facility Object Record” page appears. This page displays the entire / available details of the selected facility object, which you can change.
