Create Facility Object – A summary of the activity
In this activity, you can create a facility object.
A facility is a tool or equipment used to execute maintenance jobs on aircraft and aircraft-related components.
A facility object refers to a facility that is already defined in the Work Center business component or a part that is already defined in Part Administration business component. For instance, if Calibrator is defined as a facility, and 10 Calibrators have been newly acquired by the organization, then you must create 10 facility objects for each of the calibrators using this activity.
Using the previous example, if a part called Calibrator exists in the inventory, you can create the required number of facility objects with reference to the same part.
Facility Object #: The facility object # identifies a facility object and cannot be changed. This number is generated manually or automatically, as specified in the “Set options” activity.
You can record the following information on a facility object,
Ownership, administration and location details.
Work unit, schedule, and execution details.
Last verification, kit, warranty, Insurance and other details.
