Basics of using a Ramco iEnterprise Series 4.0 Web Page

Using Online Help

This tab enables you to add tasks to a package as well as report work on tasks. You can also perform actions on individual or multiple tasks in one go or bulk.

Assigning tasks to package

The multiline displays the following:

Error

The error code that Indicates whether an error has occurred on save of the record.                      

CS

The clock status of the task, such as Clock Start or Stop Clock..

The image works as a toggle; click on the image to start or stop clock for the task.

WS

The color indicator for the work status of the task.

Seq

The sequence number of the task in the package indicating its order for execution.  

Task #

    The task included in the package to be executed on the aircraft.

Help facility available

The multiline displays the following:

 

SS

The sign off status of the sub task, if the task has sub tasks. Icons indicate the  availability / non-availability of sub tasks for the task as illustrated in the table:

Click on the / icon to open the Record Sign-Off & Work Completion popup. More details on icons...

Att

Indicates whether any attachments are available against the task. In other words, have any documents been previously uploaded against the task.

ATA #

The ATA chapter associated with the task.

Add New Execution Comments

Additional information on the execution of the task.

Process parameter dependency: This field becomes mandatory for sign off reversal, if the process parameter “Mandate Sign Off Comments during Reversal of Sign Off?  under the entity type Package Type and the entity Log Card, User Defined Values in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master is set as '1' for Yes.

Previous Execution Comments

Additional information  on the execution of the task recorded previously. On save of the details in the page, the new text in the Add New Execution Comments field will replace the existing text in this field.  

Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the current status of the task in the package. The drop-down list box displays the following:

  • Planned

  • In-Progress

  • In-Complete

  • Pre-Closed

  • Closed

  • Deferred

  • Cancelled

  • Duplicate

  • Routed for Repair

Process Parameter Dependency: If the process parameter “Mandate Sign Off during Task Deferral?" under the entity type Package Type and the entity “All User Defined Package Types including Log Card” is set as 1 for Yes, you cannot set this field to ‘Deferred’ for a task in the ‘Planned ‘ status against which sign off is pending. This means you cannot defer a planned task awaiting sign off.

Source Task / Discrep. #

The task or discrepancy that initiated the task.

Note:

1) This field is mandatory for Non-Standard tasks, if the process parameter "Mandate Source Task/Discrep. # for Non-Standard Tasks in Work Reporting Hub?" under the entity type Package Type and the entity "All user defined package types including Log Card" is set as 1 for Yes in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master.

2) The  source task # /discrepancy # for the task must already exist in the package. If multiple instances of the source task # /discrepancy # are added to the package, you must mandatorily specify the source tracking # for the task to differentiate between the source tasks / discrepancies.

3) You can cannot modify / delete the source task # / discrepancy # once saved for the task.

The tracking # for the source task./ discrepancy.

Work Center #

Use the drop-down list box to select the work center in which the package is scheduled for execution. The drop-down list box displays the work Active centers defined in the Work Center business component. The system lists the work centers based on the Job Type selected, as mentioned below:

  • If the Job Type is selected as  "Aircraft" / "On-Wing" / "Component Removal" the system lists all the work centers (i) with 'Work Center Class' set as "Execution", (ii) having the execution capability as "Line Jobs", "Hangar Jobs" or “All” and (iii) to which the login user is mapped For Offline Base Operations, the system lists all the offline work centers satisfying the conditions mentioned above.

  • If the Job Type is selected as “Off-Wing”, the system lists all the work centers (i) with 'Work Center Class' set as "Execution" and (ii) having the execution capability as "Shop Jobs" or “All”.

The system retrieves the work center for the package and does not allow modification of the retrieved work center, if the “Allow Package execution across multiple primary Work Centers” is set as “No” in the “Set Process Parameters” page of the “Common Masters” business component.

Sign Off Status

The sign off status of the task in the package, such as Signed Off, Pending RII, Pending Mech&RII, Pending Insp&RII, Pending Mech, Insp&RII, Pending Insp (Mech Voided), Pending RII (Mech Voided), Pending RII (Insp Voided), Pending Insp&RII (Mech Voided), Pending RII (Mech&Insp Voided) or Signed Off (Voided).

 

Sign Off Date & Time

The date on and time at which the mechanic / inspector signed off the task / sub task.

Note: If you have not specified this field, the system sets the sign off date & time to the reported date & time field as provided in the header of the page. However, if the Reported Date & Time field has not been specified, the system sets this field to the current date & time in the station of the work center in which the package is scheduled for execution.   

  • Enter the  following in the multiline

Task Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the task. The system lists all the ‘Active’ quick codes defined for the Quick Code Type ‘Task Type’ in the “Maintenance Task” business component.

This field is disabled, if the “New Task?” drop-down is set as “Yes”.

Task Category

Use the drop-down list box to specify the category to which the task belongs. The system all the active quick codes defined for the Quick Code Type ‘Task Category’ in the  “Maintenance Task” business component.

Job Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of job. The system displays the following options:

  • Aircraft – Select this option to indicate that the work unit must be performed on the aircraft. 

  • On-Wing – Select this option to indicate that the work unit must be performed on components attached to the aircraft.

  • Component Removal – Select this option if the work unit pertains to the removal of the component.

  • Off-Wing – Select this option to indicate that the task must be performed in a Shop Work Center / External Repair Agency. By default, the system displays “Aircraft”.

Ensure that the Job Type is set as “Aircraft” if the Applicability of the work unit is “Aircraft” and is set as “On-Wing”, “Component Removal” or “Off-Wing”, if the Applicability of the work unit is “Engine” or “Component”.

On saving AME / Work Information,

  • If the 'Job-Type' of the Parent Task is set as "Off-Wing", you must select the ‘Job Type’ of the child task also as “Off-Wing”.

If the 'Job-Type' of the Parent Task is set as "Off-Wing", the system updates the 'Job-Type' of all the associated Child Tasks as "Off-Wing", provided, the 'Execution Status' of the Child Task is "Planned", "Deferred" or "Duplicate".

Repair Class.

Use the drop-down list box to select the Repair Classification associated to the task. Repair classification is specified in order to differentiate the tasks which are over and above the contract (COA - Contract Over and Above) between the operator and the MRO. The system lists all the ‘Active’ quick codes of type “Repair Classification” defined in the “Maintenance Task” business component.

Exe. Phase

Use the drop-down list box to specify the execution phase of the task. The system lists the following values along with all the active quick codes defined for the Quick Code type “Execution Phase” in the “Maintenance Task” business component:

  • Regular - Select this option, if the task must be performed as a part of normal maintenance activities carried out in hangar.

  • Preparatory - Select this option, if the task must be performed as a part of preliminary activities before aircraft is grounded for maintenance.

  • Post Flight - Select this option, if the task must be performed as a part of post test flight activities.

Exec. Category

Use the drop-down list box to specify the execution category of the task. The system lists all the ‘Active’ values defined for the Quick Code Type “Execution Ref # Category” in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the “Flight Log” business component.

Part #

The part # on which the task must be executed for maintenance.

Help facility available

Serial #

The serial # of the part # on which the task must be executed for maintenance.

Position Code

The position in the aircraft to which the part is attached.

Part Description

The description of the part associated with the maintenance task.

Mech Req?

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether sign-off by the mechanic is required for the completion of the task. The drop-down list box displays the following:

  • No

  • Yes

Mech Sign Off

The employee code of the mechanic who has signed off the completion of the task.

Insp Req?

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether sign-off by the inspector is required for the completion of the task. The drop-down list box displays the following:

  • No

  • Yes

Insp Sign Off

The employee code of the inspector who has signed off the completion of the task.

RII Req?

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether sign-off by RII is required for the completion of the task. The drop-down list box displays the following:

  • No

  • Yes

Process Parameter dependencies for RII Sign-off

1) Same Employee Sign-off: If the process parameter "Allow signed off Mechanic/Inspector to sign off as RII for same Task/Discrepancy?"  under the entity type Package Type and the entity Log Cards and User Defined  package types is set as 1/Allowed, the employee who has signed off as mechanic/inspector can also sign off as RII for the same task. However, if the process parameter is set as 0/Not Allowed, the employee who is to perform RII sign off must not sign off as Mechanic/Inspector for the same task.

2) Mandating Sign-off for Non-Standard tasks based on process parameter: If the process parameter “Require RII Sign-Off for Non-Routines?” under the entity type package Type and the entity All User Define Package Types including “Log Card” in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master is set as 1 for Required, this field will display Yes for Non-Standard tasks by default. This mandates the users to enter the employee code of the authorized person who performed RII sign off. Alternately, the RII Reqd? field will display No for the Non-Standard tasks added to the package indicating RII sign-off for the Non-Routine is not required, if the process parameter “Require RII Sign-Off for Non-Routines?” is set as 0 for Not Required. At this point, the process parameter Allow modification of Task Sign-Off requirements also impacts the field selection. The users will be allowed to change the field only if “Allow modification of Task Sign-Off requirements” is set as 1 for Allowed.

3) Mandating Sign-off for Standard tasks: The RII Reqd? field displays Yes by default, indicating the RII sign-off for the added Standard task is mandatory, if the RII Sign-Off Required? flag in the Edit Resource / Sign-Off Requirements screen of Maintenance Task is set as Yes. Alternately, The RII Reqd? field will display No for the Standard tasks added to the package, if the RII Sign-Off Required? flag is set as No indicating RII sign-ff is not required.  The process parameter Allow modification of Task Sign-Off requirements also impacts the check box selection. The users will be allowed to select / deselect the check box only if “Allow modification of Task Sign-Off requirements” is set as 1 for Allowed.

RII Sign Off

The employee code of the person who has performed RII sign off for the task.

Addl. Sign Off

The employee code of the person who has performed additional sign off for the task.

Add New Sign Off Comments

The latest sign-off comments recorded during execution of the task.

Process Parameter dependency: The Sign-Off comments is mandatory:

  • For reversal of Sign-Off, if the process parameter “Mandate Sign Off Comments during Reversal of Sign Off?” under the entity type Package Type and the entity Log Card, User Defined Values in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master is set as 1 for Yes.

Previous Sign Off Comments

  The sign-off comments recorded previously during task execution.

Planned Start Date

The date on which the execution of the task on the part is proposed to begin.

Planned End Date

The date on which the execution of the task on the part is proposed to conclude.

Est. Man Hours

The estimated man hours required for the completion of the task.

Actual Start Date

The date on which the execution of the task commenced.

Actual End Date

The date on which the execution of the task ended.

Actual Man Hours

The man hours consumed by the task

The multiline displays the following:

Clock Start Date

The start date of the clock for the task.

Clock Status

The status of the clock for the task.

  • Clock - Direct: Indicates that the employee has reported normal work hours for the Aircraft Maintenance Execution Reference using the clock. This value is displayed if there exist any record having only Start Date and Start Time against the Employee #-Task # in the “Record Employee TimeSheet” page of the “Aircraft Maintenance Execution” business component.

  • Clock - Indirect: Indicates that the employee has reported indirect work hours using the clock. The system displays this value if there exists no records with the Start Date, Start Time, values for the login employee and if the Start Time alone is available in the “In-Direct Reporting Hours” group box in the “Record Employee TimeSheet”.

  • Clock - Direct & Indirect: Indicates that the employee has reported direct and indirect work hours using the clock. This value is displayed if there exists any record having only Start Date and Start Time and if Start Time alone is available in the “In-Direct Reporting Hours” group box in the “Record Employee TimeSheet” page.

  • Not Started - Indicates that the clock is not started for the employee. This value is displayed if there are no records with Start Date, End Date, Start Time and End Time available for the login Employee in the “Record Employee TimeSheet” page.  which could be one of the following:

  • Clock - Direct: Indicates that the employee has reported normal work hours for the Aircraft Maintenance Execution Reference using the clock. This value is displayed if there exist any record having only Start Date and Start Time against the Employee #-Task # in the “Record Employee TimeSheet” page of the “Aircraft Maintenance Execution” business component.

  • Clock - Indirect: Indicates that the employee has reported indirect work hours using the clock. The system displays this value if there exists no records with the Start Date, Start Time, values for the login employee and if the Start Time alone is available in the “In-Direct Reporting Hours” group box in the “Record Employee TimeSheet”.

  • Clock - Direct & Indirect: Indicates that the employee has reported direct and indirect work hours using the clock. This value is displayed if there exists any record having only Start Date and Start Time and if Start Time alone is available in the “In-Direct Reporting Hours” group box in the “Record Employee TimeSheet” page.

  • Not Started - Indicates that the clock is not started for the employee. This value is displayed if there are no records with Start Date, End Date, Start Time and End Time available for the login Employee in the “Record Employee TimeSheet” page.

  • Enter details for the package you want to create in the multiline:

Tracking #

The system-generated Tracking # that identifies the task in the package.

Maint. Manual Ref. #

The maintenance manual reference for the task.

Note: The Maint. Manual Ref. # for Standard tasks is recorded at the time of creation in the Maintenance Task component. The same is retrieved and displayed here. However, for Non-Standard tasks, Maint. Manual Ref. # can be specified here.

The multiline displays the following:

Long Description

The detailed description of the task.

Hold Status

The hold status corresponding to the Log Card. If a hold is applicable for the Log Card, it must be represented by a unique Hold icon. Otherwise, the system does not display any value.

Estimation Status

The Estimation Status corresponding to the task. The possible values could be “Not Required”, “Pending Estimates”, “Pending Confirmation”, “Confirmed Estimates”, “Released Estimates” and “Pending Re-Estimates”.

File Name

The file you wish to associate to the task that contains additional information..

The multiline displays the following:

Skill #

The code of the skill the employee must possess to execute the task.

Zone #

The zone in the aircraft in which the task is executed.  

Work Area #

The work area in the aircraft in which the task is executed.

WBS Code

The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) code of the task, indicating the attributes that identify whether the task is primarily for workscoping or for maintenance execution.

Parent Task #

The parent task, if the task is a child task.

Root Task #

The code of the root task identified in the Repair Scheme.

Workscoping Comments

Additional information on the scope of work of the task.

The multiline displays the following:

Message Center

Error and success messages associated with the validation of the task record.  

 

Working with tasks in existing packages

The "Task" tab and multiline  appear.

Status-Based Search

The Task tab provides the following filter cards, each of which displays status-wise count of tasks and when clicked on, retrieves the task records in the multiline.

All

Shows the total count of tasks in the package.

Click the tile to view these tasks in the multiline.

Planned

Shows the count of tasks in the “Planned” status.

Click the tile to view these tasks in the multiline.

In-Progress

Displays the count of tasks in the “In-Progress” status.

Click the tile to view these tasks in the multiline.

Completed

Displays the count of tasks in the “Completed” status.

Click the tile to view these tasks in the multiline.

Other

Displays the count of tasks in a status other than “Planned, “In-Progress” or “Completed”.

Click the tile to view these tasks in the multiline.

Exception-Based retrieval

The Task tab provides the following filter cards, each of which when clicked on, retrieves task records in the multiline based on a specific exception.

All

Shows the total number of tasks in the package.

Click the tile to view these tasks in the multiline.

My Clock Running

Shows the count of tasks with running clocks that were started by the login user.

Click the tile to view these tasks in the multiline.

All Clock Running

Shows the count of tasks with running clocks.

Work on Hold

Shows the count of tasks in the ‘Hold’ status.

Shows the count of tasks for which the Estimation Required flag is set.

Search-Based retrieval

Note: The Search mode of the Work Reporting Hub page appears by default upon selection of a package on the basis of the definition of the process parameter “Show Search Mode by default on launch of the Work Reporting Hub?" under the entity type Entity Type 'Package Type' and the entity 'Log Card' and ‘All User-Defined Package Types’ in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master.

Description

The retrieve task with a specific description, enter the description of the task.

Status

To retrieve tasks in a specific status, select the status from the drop-down list box. The drop-down list box displays the following statuses:

  • Planned

  • In-Progress

  • In-Complete

  • Completed

  • Pre-Closed

  • Closed

  • Deferred

  • Cancelled

  • Planned & In Progress

  • Duplicate

  • Routed for Repair

Job Type

To retrieve tasks with a specific job type, select the job type from the drop-down list box. The drop-down list box displays the following: Aircraft, Component Removal, Off-wing and On-wing.

Search On

Use the first drop-down list box to select the attribute depending on which you want to search for the task. The drop-down list box displays the following:

  • Priority

  • WBS Code

  • Repair Class

  • Exe. Comment

  • Work Center #

  • Task Type

  • Task Category

  • Seq #

Skill #

To retrieve tasks that require a specific skill for execution, enter the skill #.

Zone #

To retrieve the tasks scheduled for execution in a specific zone, enter the zone #.

The multiline displays the following details of the retrieved tasks:

Error

  • You can click the  and  icons for pending tasks and sub tasks to open the Record Sign-Off & Work Completion popup and record necessary details for sub task.  

  • However, the users can click the Sign Off Sub Tasks link to sign off sub tasks of multiple tasks in one go.         

  • Enter the following in the multiline.

  • Stopping clock  whether it happens automatically or manually, if the process parameter "Mandate New Execution Comments for Tasks during Stop Clock in the Work Reporting Hub?"   defined under the entity type Package Type and the entity Log Card in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master is set as 1 for Yes.

  • Sign off reversal, if the process parameter “Mandate Sign Off Comments during Reversal of Sign Off?  under the entity type Package Type and the entity Log Card, User Defined Values in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master is ‘1’ for Yes.

Process Parameter dependency: You can change previous execution comments based on the value of the process parameter "Allow modification of Previous Execution Comments in the Work Reporting Hub?"   defined under the entity type Package Type and the entity Log Card in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master. Use the drop-down list box to set the status of the task. The drop-down list box displays Planned, In-Progress, In-Complete, Completed, Pre-Closed, Closed, Deferred, Cancelled, Duplicate and Routed for Repair.

Use the drop-down list box to select the repair class of the task.

Exe. Phase

Use the drop-down to select the user-defined execution phase of the task. The drop-down list box displays the

Exec. Category

Use the drop-down list box to select the execution category of the task. The drop-down list box displays the

Sign Off Requirement

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of sign off  required for the closure, cancellation or completion of the task. The drop-down list box displays the following: Not Required, Mechanic, Inspector, Mechanic & Inspector and Others.

Mechanic

The employee code of the mechanic who signed off the task.

Inspector

The employee code of the inspector who signed off the task.

Note: A mechanic cannot reverse  / revert the sign off of an inspector.

RII Sign Off

The employee code of the mechanic/inspector/employee who RII signed off the task.

Note: A mechanic cannot reverse  / revert the RII sign off.

Addl. Sign Off

The employee code of the mechanic/inspector/employee who additionally signed off the task.

Add New Sign Off

Additional details regarding task sign off .

Process parameter dependency: This field becomes mandatory for Mechanic, Inspector and Mechanic & Inspector sign off, if the process parameter "Mandate Sign Off Comments during Mechanic / Inspector Sign Off?" under the entity type Package Type and entity Log Card is set as 1 for Yes in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master.

Note: This field automatically displays the current sign off comments on saving of new sign off comments.

The skill mandatory for the execution / sign off of the task.

Reporting work on task

The “Manage Discrepancy” window appears.

The “Task Actions” window appears.

The “Part Requirements / Request” tab appears on click of the “Request Part” link. The multiline in the “Parts Requirements/Request” tab displays the material requests available for the tasks / discrepancies selected in the Tasks / Discrepancies tab of Work Reporting Hub. However, retrieval of part requests is based on the process parameter definition as set in the Define Process Parameters activity of Common Master.

Automatic stopping of clock on completion, closure or pre-closure of task

If the process parameter “Automatically stop login user's running clock during Completion/Closure/Pre-Closure of Task?” under the entity type 'Package Type' and entity ‘Log card' and all other user defined Package Types except '--All Packages---“ is ‘Yes’’ in the Define Process Parameters activity of Common Master, the system automatically stops the clock started by the login user on completion, closure or pre-closure of the task under the following conditions.

Signing off tasks

You can sign off a task by specifying the following fields in the "Tasks" tab multiline and then click the Save /  Complete pushbutton:

On click of the Save pushbutton, the Dual Authentication popup appears.
