Selecting change request for processing
This page allow you to select a single change request or multiple change requests for evaluation. Tell me more.
Select the “Process Change Request” link under the “Engineering Document” business component.
The “Select Change Request” page appears.
Enter the following filter criteria in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for the change requests. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Applicability |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the applicability of the change request document to be retrieved. The change request could be applicable for “Aircraft”, “Engine” or “Component”. |
Source Doc Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the modification document or the source document of the change request. The system lists all the values defined in the “Create MCR Document Type“ activity of the “Common Master” business component. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve the change request irrespective of the source document type. |
Change Request # |
The change request for which you wish to retrieve the details (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the change request numbers that are similar to the values entered here. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select any one of the following statuses of the change request to be retrieved.
The system retrieves all the change requests that are in the status specified here. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve details of change requests irrespective of their status. |
Process Ref. # |
The unique number identifying the MCR # and Revision # combination for which the change request details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the MCM numbers similar to the number entered here, and the associated change requests. |
Process Ref. Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select any one of the following statuses of the Process Ref. #.:
Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve details of the MCR# and Revision # combination irrespective of their status. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user status of the change request. Based on the type of the change request document, “MCR”, the system lists the user statuses that are defined as quick codes in the “Maintenance Change Request” or “Engineering Document” business component. The system retrieves all the change requests that are in the user status specified here. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter on which the change request has to be executed (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the change request numbers containing ATA chapter number similar to the value entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve the all the change requests irrespective of the ATA chapter number. |
Exe. Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the execution type. The valid options are “Major”, “Minor” and Blank. The system displays blank by default. |
Eng. Doc. Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the Engineering Document Type. The system lists the user defined "Document Types" in “Active” status for the "Eng. Doc. Type" in the interacting “Configure Document Attributes” activity of the “Common Master” business component. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Eng. Doc. Processed ? |
Use the drop-down list box to select any one of the following options:
The system displays the value “Processed” by default. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
Note: If you have set assignments as ‘mandatory’ in the “Set Options” activity, the system retrieves only those change requests that are assigned to the login user. If assignments are non-mandatory, the system retrieves all the change requests that are assigned to the login user and those change requests for which no assignment exists.
Based on search criteria, the system fetches only those change requests that:
Have not been terminated by any other change request in the “Maintenance Change Request” business component
Await login user’s authorization as identified in the work flow configured in the “Work Flow Management” business component
Process Parameter dependency on retrieval of search results: If the process parameter "Enable Part level MCR / EO processing?" defined under the entity type Eng. Doc, Type and the entity “All Eng. Doc Types” is set as 1 for Yes in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master, the search retrieves only those parts that satisfy advanced part effectivity but currently have no serial #.
The system displays the following fields in the “Employee Details” group box:

The number identifying the logged in employee. |
Employee Name |
The name of the employee. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline:
Change Doc Type |
The type of the change request document, which could be “MCR”. |
Change Request # |
The number identifying the MCR. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the change request. |
User Status |
The user status of the change request. |
Applicability |
Indicates whether the change request is applicable for “Aircraft”, “Engine” or “Component”. |
Process Ref. # |
The unique identifier corresponding to the MCR # and Revision # combination.. |
Process Ref. Status |
The system displays any one of the following statuses of the Process Ref. #.

Exe. Decision |
The decision taken by the executive committee regarding the execution of the change request. |
Assigned (Y/N) |
The system displays “Yes”, if employee assignments have already been done. |
Evaluated (Y/N) |
The system displays “Yes”, if the change request has already been evaluated. |
MCR Class |
Denotes the nature of execution of the MCR. |
Exe. Type |
The type of execution, whether “Major” or “Minor”. |
Eng. Doc. Type |
The type of engineering document. |
Eng. Doc. Processed ? |
The system displays any one of the following options:

Subject |
The textual description of the change request. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to mark the change request for which the details are to be evaluated or processed, or the processed information must be modified.
Note: You can select multiple change requests for processing, or to modify the processed information.
To proceed carry out the following
Select the “Evaluate Change Request” link at the bottom of the page, to evaluate the change request.
Select the “Process Change Request” link at the bottom of the page, to process the change request(s).
Select the “View Assignment Information” link at the bottom of the page, to view the employee assignment details for the change request.
Selecting change request for processing – An overview
In this page, you can select a single change request or multiple change requests for evaluation.
You can search for a change request by entering the details such as, change document type, source document type, change request number, status, process ref #, process ref status applicability, user status, ATA chapter, in the search criteria.
Details of the change request, such as the change document type, change request number and its revision number and user status are displayed.
