Re - forecast – A summary of the activity
This activity allows you to re-forecast the maintenance arisings on the component. The allocations performed by the component maintenance planner to the various execution centers can undergo revisions subsequently. Revisions may result in a change in the work scope or the planned dates, that is replacement date or activities and compliance date. Re-forecasting of the forecasted work scope by the component maintenance planner forms the primary trigger for such revisions.
Re-forecast
Re-forecasting typically involves:
Work scope increase: Additional work units might arise which might be allocated to an existing visit package. For example, an “Inspection” work order might be changed to “Overhaul” type of work order.
Work scope reduction: Components, which are due for maintenance, and whose occurrence has been forecasted, might fall out of the planning horizon as a result of a re-forecast. This might require the cancellation of an existing allocation. This can be carried out by the component planner himself.
Change in Compliance date: As a result of re-forecasting, there may be change in the compliance dates. The impact on the compliance date will be recorded in the re-forecast log, which will be referred to by the Central planner or the Visit planner for further planning.
The “Select Forecast” page allows you to select the forecast for re-forecasting the details. The component arisings can be forecasted in the “Re – forecast Component Arisings” page. The utilization factor details for the aircraft can be edited in the “Edit Aircraft Utilization Details” page. The re-forecast details can be viewed in the “Inquire Re-forecast Details” page.
