Edit Visit Package – A summary of the activity

In this activity, you can  modify the details of the visit package that is already created. The visit package for schedule maintenance is created in the “Central Planning” business component, and the unscheduled visit packages are created in the current business component. The system allows you to plan the schedules or modify the details of both ‘planned’ and ‘unplanned’ visit packages in this activity.

You can select a visit package and modify the work unit details and the resource and part requirements for the individual work units, or for the visit package as a whole. You can also modify the component removal details. You can plan the visit package and modify the consolidated material and resource requirements. You can also create a deferment request for the work units or modify the deferment request details.

Process discrepancies

Discrepancies are typically the symptoms of the problem, which are observed by the person-in-charge, like pilot, mechanic or the cabin crew, and are recorded in the flight log or in the hangar work order. A discrepancy is created in the “Discrepancy Processing” business component, to process the discrepancies. Sometimes, due to reasons such as non-availability of spares or ill-equipped maintenance station, the discrepancy may be deferred. The confirmed deferred an pending discrepancies  for the aircraft can be processed in this activity.

Process modified work units

You can process the changes made in the allocations by the central planner after the visit package has been allotted to the visit planner.

Specify the component restoration details

You can specify the component that has to be removed or replaced in the aircraft as part of the maintenance activity. You can also specify the work unit (identified as restoration work unit in the “Component Maintenance Program” business component) that has to be performed for the restoration of the component.

Export/Import the visit package to/from project management tools

You can plan  the visit package details and export the work unit details to the project management software. The software will calculate the scheduled start date and end date automatically for the work units included in the visit package. You can also import the visit package contents from the project management software.

Note: If the scheduling details are entered in the “Work Unit Details” multiline of the “Plan Visit Package” page, then you need not enter the details using the PMT

Click here to learn more details about the transfer to Project Management Software.

Create deferment request

You can defer work units that are part of a visit package and allocated to an execution center. You may have to defer a work unit due to various reasons such as resource constraints, flying schedules of an aircraft or workload of an execution center. Each deferment should be accompanied by an appropriate reason for deferring and requires approval from an authorized person.

Specify deferral limits for a work unit

You can specify the deferral limits for a work unit. You can specify time based and usage based deferral limits. The work unit will be deferred based on the deferral limits specified here.
