Through this activity, you can set Process Parameter values.
Process Parameters are the basic parameters on which the system operates. These parameters may vary from organization to organization as they are linked to the business practices specific to the organization. These values provide flexibility to the system. Parameters can be set at any level within the Organization. The values for Process Parameters can be set after selecting the Process Parameters Component for which you can set the values.
When you select the component viz., Competency, Employee Personal Information etc., the system lists the predefined parameters that can be set for the selected component from which you are to choose the required parameter. For example, an organization may choose to define competencies at the element level while another organization may prefer to have competency level definitions. In the same way, the maximum value for a competency can be set as 100, 120 or 150 etc., as per organizational need or practice.
To set process parameters, you are to specify the following details:
The description of the organization unit in which the “Employee Induction Parameter” component is deployed to process employee inductions activities for the organization units interacting with it.
The component for which you want to set the process parameters.
The parameters you want to set in the selected component.
The values, if any, that must be assigned to the parameters set for the selected component.
In addition, you can also enter your comments with regard to the specified details.
The system also facilitates viewing the organization units to which the process parameters you set would be applicable as also viewing component wise details of the parameters in a separate page.
Note that only those users who have been given permissions for the ‘Set Process Parameters’ activity, and have login permissions for the organization unit can set process parameter values for that organization unit. However, any login user will be able to view the component wise details of the process parameters.
