How to use the web page

Using online help

The  “Define Appraiser” page appears.

The system displays the following

Employment Unit

The employment unit to which the login employee belongs.

This employment unit refers to the organization unit that holds the Employment Information component.

Date Format

The date format that is applicable to the login user.

Employee

The employee code and name of the login employee.

Assignment No.

From the drop-down list box, select the number of the assignment for which the self-appraisal will be applicable.

Joining Date

The date of joining of the employee.

Confirmation Date

The date on which the employee was confirmed.

Appraisal Type

From the drop-down list box, select the type of appraisal for which the employee’s appraisers must be defined. It can be one of the following:

  •  Annual Appraisal

  • Confirmation Appraisal

  • Contract End Appraisal

  • Any other appraisal type that is user-defined through quick codes.

Appraisal Calendar Code

 Enter the code of the appraisal calendar in which the mapping of appraisers will be applicable.

An appraisal calendar is a specific period of appraisal.  For example, the appraisal calendar C1 is for the period 1 January 2003 to 31 December 2003.

Calendar Short Description

If you select the appraisal calendar through Help, the short description of the calendar is displayed. 

Period From

The start date of the calendar

Period To

The end date of the calendar

Employee Type

The type of the employment.

The “Appraiser Mapping” multiline will display the details of the appraisers already mapped to the employee

To define appraisers

Appraiser Code

The employee code of each appraiser to be mapped to the employee.

Help available

Period From

The date from which the appraiser will be mapped to the employee.

Period To

 The date until which the appraiser will be mapped to the employee.

Remarks

Any remark pertaining to the appraiser

If the “Appraiser Code” was selected using Help, the system displays the following in the multiline

Appraiser’s Employment Unit

The employment unit of the appraiser.

Name

The name of the appraiser.

Department

The name of appraiser’s department.

Job Title           

The title of the job held by the appraiser

Position Title

The title of the position held by the appraiser

Weightage (in %)

The weightage assigned to the objective group, objective type, objective group-type and objective, in percentage.

If the weightage computation level is set as ”Objective Group”, then the objective (within a group) is calculated as shown below: Objective Y1 weightage % = ((Objective Y1 Weightage / sum(Objective Y1 Weightage + ObjectiveY2 Weightage....))*Objective Group G1 Weightage %

If the weightage computation level is set as “Objective Type” then the objective (all objectives within type) is calculated as shown below: Objective Q1 weightage % = ((Objective Q1 Weightage/sum(ObjectiveQ1 Weightage+ObjectiveQ2 Weightage....))*ObjectiveType T1 Weightage %

If the weightage computation is set as “Objective Group-Type” then the objective (all objectives within a Type) is calculated as shown below: Objective Q1 weightage % = ((Objective Q1 Weightage /sum(ObjectiveQ1 Weightage+ObjectiveQ2 Weightage....))*ObjectiveType T1 Weightage %

If the weightage computation level is set as “Objective”, then the objective (all objectives) is calculated as shown below: Objective Q1 weightage % = ((Objective Q1 weightage/sum(ObjectiveQ1 weightage +ObjectiveQ2 weightage....)) * 100

Employee Appraisal Status

The status of the employee’s appraisal. It can be one of the following:

  • Pending: The appraiser is yet to appraise the employee

  • Completed: The appraiser has completed the appraisal for the employee. In other words, the appraiser has marked the “Have you completed Appraising' flag as 'Yes'.

  • In-progress: The appraiser has started the appraisal for the employee but not completed it yet.

To save employee appraiser mapping

    The system saves the mapping of appraisers to the employee.

To edit changed appraiser details

Whenever an employer’s appraiser has been changed in the “Record Appraiser Mapping” activity, you can visit this page and view the updated information as follows. You can also edit the "Period From" and "Period To" fields.

The employee code of the previous appraiser

Appraiser’s Employment Unit

The employment unit of the previous appraiser

Changed Appraiser Code

The employee code of the changed/new appraiser

Changed Appraiser’s Employment Unit

 The employment unit to which the changed appraiser belongs

Period From

The date from which the changed appraiser will be mapped to the employee.

Period To

 The date until which the changed appraiser will be mapped to the employee.

To define objectives for an appraiser

The “Set Appraisal Objectives” page appears. Refer to Recording appraisal objectives
