Through this activity, you can edit a grade.
Grade: The employees in an organization are classified into different grade sets based on various quantitative parameters. For example, while all managers can be grouped into one grade set, there can be separate grade sets for administrative personnel, clerical staff. A grade is a qualitative unit, which differentiates employees belonging to the same grade set.
Each grade is made distinct by attributing a different pay scale, rate of increment and other privileges to it, based on certain eligibility criteria. Subsequently, when employees of a grade set are attached to different grades, the differences in their compensation structures are rationalized.
For example, if the grade set, ‘Managers’ has grades M1 to M4, all the managers attached to grade M1 enjoy the same pay scale, rate of increment, and other benefits and privileges although there may exist differences in the compensation terms and conditions for managers attached to grades M2,r M3 or M4.
In addition, grade is the indicator of the position of the employee in the hierarchical structure of the organization.
The details of the grade that you can edit are,
The short and long descriptions of the grade.
The active status of the grade.
The comments recorded about the grade.
The employment units to which the grade is applicable that is, whether the grade is applicable to all, selective or only to the login employment units.
Through the Edit Grade activity, you can change the short and long descriptions of the grade. In addition, you can either activate a new grade or deactivate an active grade. If activated, the grade will be available for use by other activities. Also, you can edit the comments specified previously.
You can also specify whether the system must maintain a history of the modifications you carry out on the grade.. If so, you must provide the date from which the current modification comes to effect. By default, the previous modifications to the grade will be effective until one day previous to this date.
This activity also allows you to specify whether the grade must be made available to all the employment units within the enterprise, only to those to which the login user is attached or to distinct organizational units.
Translation of record in chosen language: You can also translate the details into any of the available languages. These languages must have been specified during the installation of the application.
If there are four available languages say, German, French, English and Italian, and you add a grade in German, the system replicates the grade record three times, that is, one version in each of the other three languages.
When you access these records for the first time, the description is still in the login language, German. You can
Manually translate the description of the grade, into the chosen language.
Edit all values in the chosen language, except for the grade code. Note that these values are available in the chosen language.
