Manpower Planning - A summary of the activity
Through this activity, you can create the manpower plan for any combination of employment unit, work location, department and the selected planning dimension. Manpower planning is done for a specific planning calendar that has been defined in the “Define Planning Calendar” activity.
Versioning: You can maintain different versions of the manpower plan. Versioning helps you to have multiple choices for selecting the appropriate manpower plan. You can also reuse the plan that has been defined for some other work location /department.
Recording the manpower planning: You can record and comprehend the (i) strength of the employees in a segment (department/work location)(ii) number of employees in the department (iii) average salary per headcount (iv) increase in salary budget.
You can use the following rules defined in the “Application Tools” component” for computation.
Analyzing the dynamic bar graph: You can analyze the increase in salary budget by studying the dynamic bar graph. This graph aids in understanding the fluctuation of salary budget during the planning calendar.
Saving the manpower plan: Initially, when you save the manpower plan, it is saved as a draft. Additionally, you can save a new version of the manpower plan. You can create multiple versions for the manpower plan only when the version status of the plan is– “Draft”.
The manpower plan can be sent for approval. Once the plan has been sent for approval, the status of the plan changes to ”Pending for Approval”. .
Note: You cannot create a new version for the manpower plan even if one version under the plan code has been sent for approval.
These records will be authorized/rejected in the “Authorize Manpower planning” activity.
Viewing, editing and deleting the manpower plan: Through this activity, you can view the records of any status. Additionally, you can edit or delete a specific version of the manpower plan.
