Employee Code Setup – An overview
The Employee Code Setup component helps in defining the Employee Code Generation Method (Manual/Automatic), length of Employee Code, whether a Prefix is applicable for the Organization, length of the Prefix and the start value. User Employee Mapping and setting of Citizenship Identification Number can also be done here.
You can perform the following activities using the employee code setup component:
Map User to Employee.
Set Employee Code Parameters.
Set Citizenship Identification Number Format.
View User Employee Mapping Details.
Performing User Employee Mapping: A User of the system will use his/her User Id, Password to log into the system. This user might be an employee. If so the user should be recognized as that employee by the system for Self-service based or Span of Control based transactions. This activity provides the facility to identify an Employee based on Login information.
Thus, the user employee mapping activity facilitates in recognizing the user of the system as an employee of the organization.
Setting Employee Code Parameters: This activity allows you to set the employee code parameters, which govern the employee code generation.
Through this activity, you can set the following parameters:
Employee Code Generation Method: This parameter gives the flexibility of choosing whether the employee codes must be generated manually or automatically.
Employee Code Length: This parameter is used to set the maximum length of the employee code.
Employee Code Prefix: This parameter gives the flexibility of choosing whether the employee code should have a prefix or not.
Employee Code Prefix Length: This parameter is used to set the maximum length of the employee code prefix.
These parameters are applicable only to the organization units whose ‘Employee Personal Information’ component interacts with that particular instance of the ‘Employee Code Setup’ component.
Set Citizenship Identification Number Format: This activity enables you to set the Citizenship Identification Number & its Format (e.g., Social Security Number for the United States) for each Country.
You can use this activity to set the following:
The name of the country for which you want to set up the citizenship identification number.
The way the citizenship identification number is referred in that country.
The format for the citizenship identification number.
Note that once used, the setting cannot be changed later.
