Recording backflushed part information
In this page, you can report the consumption details of backflushed parts issued from the inventory, which have been utilized for work order execution. Tell me more.
Select the “Record Backflushed Part Information” link in the main page.
The “Record Backflushed Part Information” page appears.
The system displays the following in the “Work Order Details” group box:
Visit Package # |
The visit package to which the work order is associated. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft registration number for which the visit package is applicable. |
Work Order # |
The work order for which the backflushed part details are to be entered. |
Job Type |
The job type of the work order, which could be “Aircraft”, “On-Wing” or “Component Removal”. |
Work Center # |
The work center to which the work order is associated. |
Enter the following in the “Task Details” group box:
Task # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the task for which the backflushed part details are to be entered. If the “Task Reporting” option is set to “Assigned Employees” in the “Set Options” activity, the system lists only those tasks in the work order, which have been assigned to the login user. Otherwise, the system lists all the tasks along with additional tasks associated to the work order. The system sets this field to “All” by default. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton alongside to retrieve the task details and the backflushed part details that have been reported for the work order and the task combination.
The system displays the following fields on clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton:
Revision # |
The revision number of the task. |
Task Description |
The textual description of the task. Zoom facility available. |
The system displays the following in the “Customer Details” group box:
Customer # |
The number identifying the customer, who owns the aircraft. |
Customer Name |
The name of the customer owning the aircraft. |
Customer Order # |
The number identifying the order placed by the customer. |
The system displays the following in the “Part Consumption Details” multiline:
Line # |
The unique number generated by the system, to identify the row in the multiline. |
Required Part # |
The part that has been allocated to the work order or task. |
Note: The system retrieves only those parts with consumption mode set as “Backflushable”
UOM |
The unit of measurement for the part. |
Req. Qty. |
The total quantity of part required. |
Part Type |
The type of the part required. |
Enter the following field:
Consumed Part # |
The number identifying the part consumed (Alphanumeric,40). Help facility available. |
The system displays the following field:
Consumed Qty. |
The quantity of part consumed. |
Enter the following field:
Reported Qty. |
The quantity of part reported for the work order or task (Integer). Ensure that the value entered is a positive integer. |
Note: Ensure that the sum of consumed quantity and reported quantity does not exceed the required quantity, if the “Additional Quantity for Backflushing” field is set as “Not Allowed” in the “Option Setting Information” page of the “Set Options” activity of the current business component.
The system displays the following fields:
Returned Qty |
The quantity of part returned to the warehouse. |
Pending Return Qty |
The quantity of part pending for return to the warehouse. |
Part Control Type |
The type of part control, which could be “Serial Controlled”, “Lot Controlled” or “Serial & Lot Controlled”. |
Enter the following fields:
Warehouse # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse associated to the part specified in the “Required Part #” field. The system lists all the warehouses for which the transaction type “Stock Issue” is allowed in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component. |
Note: If no value exists in the “Required Part #” field or no material planning has been done, then the system retrieves the warehouse number associated to the work center to which the work unit is allotted in the visit package.
You can modify the warehouse number only if the “Warehouse Modification of Backflushed Parts” option is set as “Allowed” in the “Set Options” activity of the current business component.
Stock Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the stock status of the backflushed part. The system lists all the stock statuses defined in the “User Defined Stock Status” business component. |
The system displays the following field:
Record Status |
The consumption status of the part. The system displays one of the following:

Part description |
The textual description of the backflushed part. |
Note: For the work order / task number specified, the system updates the line number, required part number, UOM, required quantity, part type, part control type and part description with corresponding values from part requirement details of the “Visit Package”/”Hangar Work Order” business component.
Enter the following field:
Remarks |
Any other remarks regarding the backflushed part consumption details (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Note: At least one part should be entered in the multiline.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the work order for which the backflushed part consumption details are to be entered.
To record the backflushed part consumption details
Click the “Record Consumption” pushbutton to record the backflushed part consumption details.
The system performs the following:
For the work center to which the warehouse is associated, the system ensures that the “Allow Backflushing” field is checked in the “Warehouse Settings” group box in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component.
For each part selected in the multiline, the system retrieves the additional part consumption details as specified in the “Visit Package” / ”Hangar Work Order” business component, only if “Additional Part for Backflushing” field is set as “Allowed” in the “Set Options” activity of the current business component.
For the part newly added in the multiline, if the “Work Center” field is left blank, the system updates the work center mapped to the part type-warehouse combination.
When a material request is created, the system copies the finance book codes stored against the work order in the “Finance Book Processing” business component.
The system also copies the account codes and the corresponding analysis & sub analysis codes stored for the work order, based on the option setting in the “Account Group” business component.
To enter serial and lot details for backflushed parts
Select the “Record Serial/Lot Controlled B/F Part Info.” link at the bottom of the multiline to record serial/lot details for serial-controlled and lot-controlled parts.
To confirm the backflushed part consumption details
Click the “Confirm Consumption” pushbutton to confirm the backflushed part consumption details.
On confirmation, the system performs the following:
Updates the “Consumed Quantity” field with the sum of reported quantiy and consumed quantity and leaves the “Reported Quantity” field blank.
For each part selected with return basis as “Core Returnable”, the system increments the pending return quantity by ’1’ for every unit of its consumption.
Executes automatic material request for the backfushed parts as defined in the “Create Material Request” activity of the “Material Request” business component.
Updates the record status to “Confirmed” for all the parts selected in the multiline.
For each part selected in the multiline, the system ensures that the corresponding serial number and lot number consumption information are recorded in “Record Serial/Lot Controlled B/F Part Info” page, according to the part control type specified for the part.
When a material request is created, the system copies the finance book codes stored against the work order in the “Finance Book Processing” business component.
The system also copies the account codes and the corresponding analysis & sub analysis codes stored for the work order, based on the option setting in the “Account Group” business component.
To proceed carry out the following
Select the “Help on Additional Backflushed Parts” link at the bottom of the page to retrieve the additional backflushed parts.
Select the “Record Additional Part Consumption” link at the bottom of the page to record details of the additional part utilized for the work order or task.
Select the “Create Return Slip” link at the bottom of the page, to create the return slip for the unused or excess parts.

Recording backflushed part information – An overview
In this page, you can report the consumption details of backflushed parts issued from the inventory, which have been utilized for work order execution. The system retrieves basic work order details applicable to only those work orders with job status other than “Closed” and transient status other than “Hold” or “Pending Deferral”. You can select the task if you wish to enter the backflushed part consumption details for the task.

The system displays the backflushed part that was issued for the work order or task and you can enter the quantity of backflushed part utilized. The system updates and confirms the backflushed part consumption details for the work order or task.
