Stock Status

Use the drop down list box to select the UDSS for which the details must be modified. All the UDSS created in the “Create Stock Status” activity are listed in the drop-down list box,  along with  “Consignment”, “Make WIP” and “PBH”. The system displays the option “Consignment” by default.

Note: The system lists both “Active” and “Inactive” UDSS in the drop-down list box.

Record Status

Use the drop-down list box to enable or disable the UDSS. The system provides the options “Active” and “Inactive”. The system displays “Active” by default. Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable the UDSS from future reference in other activities.

Stock Status Description

Enter the modified textual description pertaining to the user defined stock status (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory.

The system lists the predefined attribute types and the mapping details, if they are already defined for the UDSS, in the “Status Attribute Mapping Details” multiline:

Status Attributes

The basic attribute types that are predefined in the system. You can categorize the UDSS by mapping it to one or more of the following attribute types:

  • Allocable – If the stock needs to be hard allocated.Stockable – If the stock needs to be stored.

  • Cycle Counting – The stocks that need to be cycle counted. These are stocks that are counted periodically in the warehouse, to ensure accuracy between the system and the physical stock quantities.

  • Default – Indicates whether the stock status is to be defined as default stock status in the transaction documents.

  • Nettable – The stock that is considered for MRP run and whose arrival time to the warehouse is known.

  • Ownership-Customer – If the stock is owned by the customer.

  • Ownership-Supplier – If the stock is owned by the supplier

  • Ownership-Internal – If the stock is owned by the organization.

  • Ownership-Others – If the stock is an employee owned tool.

  • Physical Inventory - The stocks, present in the warehouse, which can be physically seen and made use of.

  • Scrap – The stock status where the scrapped parts are maintained. When a [art is set as scrap, the parts are unusable and can be scrapped.

  • Stockable – If the stock needs to be stored.

  • Valuated – If the stock needs to be valuated.

Mapping?

Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to map the UDSS to the attribute type. The system provides the options “Yes” and “No”. Set the field to “No” if you wish to revoke the mapping of the UDSS to the attribute type.

  • Ensure that the ownership attribute is not modified for a particular stock status.

  • Ensure that the "Nettable", “Valuated” or “Physical Inventory" status attribute is set as "Yes" only if the status attribute "Ownership-Internal" is mapped as "Yes".

  • Ensure that the "Valuated" status attribute is set as "Yes" if the ownership attribute "Ownership-Internal" is mapped as "Yes".

  • Ensure that the "Valuated" status attribute is set as "Yes" if the ownership attribute "Ownership-Customer" is mapped as "Yes", only when the option 'Inventory Valuation for Customer stock'  is set as 'Yes' in the Set Inventory Process Parameters activity.

  • Select ‘No’ for ‘Valuated’, if the process parameter "Inventory Valuation for Supplier Stock" under category Stock Maintenance in the Set Inventory Process Parameter activity of Logistics Common Master is set as ‘0’.

  • Select ‘Yes’ for ‘Valuated’, if the process parameter "Inventory Valuation for Supplier Stock" under category Stock Maintenance in the Set Inventory Process Parameter activity of Logistics Common Master is set as ‘1’.

Note: You cannot change the mapping of Valuated from ‘Yes’ to ‘No’, if valuated parts under supplier-related stock status are available in warehouses or in open stock transactions (Unplanned Receipts, Stock Returns, Stock Corrections).

  • Ensure that the ownership status attribute "Ownership-Supplier" is set as "Yes" for stock status "PBH" and “Consignment”.

  • Ensure that the stock status with ownership attribute as 'Ownership-Others' is not mapped to the attribute of “Cycle Counting”.

  • Ensure that the "Default" stock attribute is set as "Yes" only for one active stock status with ownership attribute as "Ownership-Internal" or “Ownership-Customer”.

Note: "Default" stock attribute cannot be set as "Yes" for multiple internal or customer stock statuses.

  • Ensure that the "Default" stock attribute is not set as "Yes" for the stock statuses with ownership attribute as either "Ownership-Supplier" or "Ownership-Others".

  • Ensure that the “Nettable” and “Scrap” status attribute cannot be set as “Yes” simultaneously.

  • The Stockable, Default, Nettable, Cycle Count, Physical Inventory and Stockable attributes must be set as ‘No’ for the “Make WIP” stock status.

The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box.

The system ensures that the "Default" stock attribute is set as "Yes" only for one active stock status with ownership attribute as "Ownership-Internal" or “Ownership-Customer”. This check is done along with all the stock statuses created so far.

To proceed, carry out the following

Note: You cannot access the “Status Mapping” link for the stock status “Make WIP” since status mapping and conversion are not allowed for the stock status.
