The “Create User Defined Stock Status” page appears.

Stock Status

A unique user defined status for the stock (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. This can be a combination of alphabets and digits.

Some examples of user defined stock status could be “Under Quality Check”, “In Transit” etc.

Note: The newly created UDSS is stored along with the predefined stock statuses "Consignment" and "PBH".

Stock Status Description

A textual description pertaining to the user defined stock status (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory.

For example, you can provide the description “Stock under quality check cannot be issued” for the stock status “Under Quality Check”.

The system lists the predefined attribute types in the “Status Attribute Mapping” multiline:

Status Attributes

The basic attribute types that are predefined in the system. You can categorize the UDSS by mapping it to one or more of the following attribute types:

  • Allocable – If the stock needs to be hard allocated.Stockable – If the stock needs to be stored.

  • Cycle Counting – The stocks that need to be cycle counted. These are stocks that are counted periodically in the warehouse, to ensure accuracy between the system and the physical stock quantities.

  • Default – Indicates whether the stock status is to be defined as default stock status in the transaction documents.

  • Nettable – The stock that is considered for MRP run and whose arrival time to the warehouse is known.

  • Ownership-Customer – If the stock is owned by the customer.

  • Ownership-Supplier – If the stock is owned by the supplier

  • Ownership-Internal – If the stock is owned by the organization.

  • Ownership-Others – If the stock is an employee owned tool.

  • Physical Inventory - The stocks, present in the warehouse, which can be physically seen and made use of.

  • Scrap – The stock status where the scrapped parts are maintained. When a [art is set as scrap, the parts are unusable and can be scrapped.

  • Stockable – If the stock needs to be stored.

  • Valuated – If the stock needs to be valuated.

Mapping?

Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to map the UDSS to the attribute type. The system provides the options “Yes” and “No” and sets the field to “Yes” by default.

  • Ensure that the "Nettable", “Valuated” or “Physical Inventory" status attribute is set as "Yes" only if the status attribute "Ownership-Internal" is mapped as "Yes".

  • Select ‘Yes’ for ‘Valuated’, if Ownership-Customer status attribute is ‘Yes’, only when the option 'Inventory Valuation for Customer stock'  is set as 'Yes' in the Set Inventory Process Parameters activity.

  • Select ‘No’ for ‘Valuated’, if the process parameter "Inventory Valuation for Supplier Stock" under category Stock Maintenance in the Set Inventory Process Parameter activity of Logistics Common Master is set as ‘0’.

  • Select ‘Yes’ for ‘Valuated’, if the process parameter "Inventory Valuation for Supplier Stock" under category Stock Maintenance in the Set Inventory Process Parameter activity of Logistics Common Master is set as ‘1’.

  • Select ‘No’ for Valuated, if stock status PBH or Consignment, regardless of the value of the process parameter "Inventory Valuation for Supplier Stock".

  • Ensure that the “Cycle Counting” is not set as “Yes” if stock status with ownership attribute of '”Ownership-Others” is set as “Yes”.

  • Ensure that the "Default" stock attribute is set as "Yes" only for one active stock status with ownership attribute of  "Ownership-Internal" or “Ownership-Customer”.

  • Note: "Default" stock attribute cannot be set as "Yes" for multiple internal or customer stock statuses.

  • Ensure that the "Default" stock attribute is not set as "Yes" for the stock statuses with ownership attribute of either "Ownership-Supplier" or "Ownership-Others".

  • Ensure that the “Nettable” and “Scrap” status attribute cannot be set as “Yes” simultaneously.

  • The Stockable, Default, Nettable, Cycle Count, Physical Inventory and Stockable attributes must be set as ‘No’ for the “Make WIP” stock status.

Note: The UDSS must be mapped to at least one attribute type in the multiline.

The system creates the user defined stock status and sets the status of the UDSS as “Active”.

The system stores the login ID of the user and the current system date as the creation date.

The system ensures that the "Default" stock attribute is set as "Yes" only for one active stock status with ownership attribute of "Ownership-Internal" or “Ownership-Customer”. This check is done along with all the stock statuses created so far.

To proceed, carry out the following

Note: You cannot access the “Status Mapping” link for the stock status “Make WIP” since status mapping and conversion are not allowed for the stock status.

Creating user defined stock status – An overview

Create User Defined Stock Status - A summary of the activity

This page allows you to create your own stock status. This user defined stock status, or UDSS, is stored in addition to certain other stock statuses, such as ”Consignment”, “Make WIP” and “PBH”, that are predefined in the system. Some examples of UDSS could be “Under Inspection”, “In Transit” etc.

You can provide a unique stock status and give a description to it. You can define the basic characteristics of the UDSS by associating it to the attribute types "Allocable", “Cycle Counting”, "Default", “Nettable”, “Ownership-Customer”, “Ownership-Supplier”, “Ownership-Internal”, “Ownership-Others”, “Physical Inventory", "Scrap", "Stockable", and "Valuated" defined in the system. For example, if the UDSS is mapped to the attribute type “Stockable”, it indicates that the UDSS is applicable for stocks belonging to the “Stockable” attribute type.

The system sets the status of the UDSS as “Active” once it is created. The system stores the login user ID and the server date along with the other details.
