Modifying Warehouse Information
You can modify the details that are already defined for the warehouse in this page. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Warehouse Information” link in the “Warehouse Selection” page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked warehouse number in the multiline of the same page.
The “Edit Warehouse Information” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the Enterprise Modeling business component by default. |
The system displays the following field in the “Warehouse Details” group box:
Warehouse # |
The warehouse selected for modification. |
Enter the following fields in the “Warehouse Information” group box to modify the warehouse details:
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the warehouse. The system lists the options “Active” and “Inactive”. |
Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable the warehouse from future reference in other activities. |

Ensure that the following conditions are fulfilled when you inactivate a warehouse: |

Description |
The modified textual description of the warehouse (Alphanumeric 80). Mandatory. |
Warehouse Type |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the storage type of the warehouse. The system lists the options “Normal” and “Free”. |
You can modify the storage type from “Free” to “Normal” only when there is no stock in the warehouse. |

You can modify the storage type from “Normal” to “Free” only when the zones and bins in the warehouse are in “Inactive” status. |
|
|
You can modify the type of the warehouse only if the warehouse is not currently offline. |
|
The system sets the field to “Free” by default. |
Note: If an “Active” warehouse of “Normal” type is modified as “Free” type, the zone, bin, storage allocation and storage strategies defined for the warehouse are deleted. |

Finance Book |
The code identifying the finance book associated with the warehouse. Ensure that the finance book entered is in “Active” status and as defined in the “Enterprise Setup” component. Help facility available. |
Storage Location |
The code defined under a station to which multiple warehouses can be mapped. The parts are stored in a warehouse. The system displays all the storage locations defined in the “Maintain Storage Location” activity. The system leaves the field blank by default. The system ensures that the storage location is selected and is in “Active” status. |
Warehouse Category |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the category to which the warehouse belongs. The system displays all the categories defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. Leave this field blank if you do not wish to assign a category to the warehouse. |
Warehouse Group |
Use the drop-down list box and select the warehouse group. The system lists all the 'Active' Warehouse Groups defined under the "Create Quick Codes" activity of the "Storage Administration" business component. By default, the system leaves the field blank. |
Note: You can modify the value entered in the “Finance Book”, only if the option “Editing of Finance Book for Warehouse" is set as “Allowed” in the “Account Group” business component .
Enter the following fields in the “Warehouse Settings” group box;
Allow Backflushing |
Check this box to allow the parts in the warehouse to be back flushed. Back flushing means, the inventory stock is reduced based on the consumption report of the parts. |
Allow Reservation / Hard Allocation |
Check this box to allow the parts stored in the warehouse to be reserved or hard allocated. |
Allow Offline Usage |
Indicates whether the warehouse can be used for stock transactions during offline field operations. Note: The warehouse can be used for offline transactions only if: 1) The “Offline System Applicable?” parameter Is Yes in the Set Global Parameters activity of the Installation Parameter Setup component. 2) Replenishment Activity By for no part in the warehouse is Purchase Order or Purchase Request. 3) The warehouse is not part of the Planning Material task in the Stock Demand component. |
Enter the following fields in the “Address Details” group box:
Address |
The address of the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 255). |
City |
The city where the warehouse is located (Alphanumeric, 32). |
State |
The state where the warehouse is located (Alphanumeric, 32). |
Zip Code |
The postal code or the pin code of the city where the warehouse is located (Alphanumeric, 15). |
Country |
The country where the warehouse is located (Alphanumeric, 20). Smart Search enabled. |
Tax Region |
Use the drop-down list box and select the taxation region in which the warehouse is located. The system lists all the ‘Active’ quick codes defined for the Entity ‘Tax Region’ in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the “Quick Codes” business component. |
Warehouse In-charge |
The employee code of the warehouse in-charge, who is responsible for controlling the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 15). The employee code must have been defined in the “Set Warehouse–Access Privileges” activity of the current business component |

The system fills in the following.
In-charge Name |
The name of the warehouse in-charge. |
Enter the following in the “Warehouse Capacity Setting” group box:
Capacity Constraint |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the capacity of the stock accommodated in the warehouse, which could be one of the following: |

The system sets the field to “Not Applicable” by default. |
Note: The capacity value cannot be less than the existing stock level when the Warehouse condition is set to “Free”. The stock level can be obtained from the “Stock Maintenance” business component.
Volume |
The volume of the stock stored in the warehouse (Decimal). It is mandatory to enter the volume, if “Capacity Constraint” field is set to “Volume”. |
Volume UOM |
The unit of measurement in which the volume of the part is measured (Alphanumeric, 10). The UOM must be defined in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement” business component and must be in “Active” status. |
This field must not be left blank, if the “Capacity Constraint” field is set to “Volume” and the “Volume” field is entered. |

Weight |
The weight of the stock stored in the warehouse (Decimal). It is mandatory to enter the weight, if “Capacity Constraint” field is set to “Weight”. |
Weight UOM |
The unit of measurement in which the part is weighed (Alphanumeric, 10). The UOM must be defined in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement” business component and must be in “Active” status. |
This field must not be left blank, if the “Capacity Constraint” field is set to “Weight” and the “Weight” field is entered. |

Enter the following fields in the “Other Details” group box:

Enter the following in the “Attachments” group box:
File Name |
The name of the file used for document reference that is associated to the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 50). Help Facility available. |
Select the “View File ” link provided along side, to view the file details.
Click the “Edit Warehouse Information” pushbutton to update the modified warehouse details.
Note: On saving of information, if the warehouse allows stock transactions in an offline area; the system grants access rights to employees of the warehouse to its work center. In turn, employees of the work center are provided access to the warehouse.
The system ensures that the ‘Country’ field entered is same as ISO Country Code in “View Country” of “Organization Setup” business component, if the Set option "Valid Country Defined in Warehouse Master as same as in Country Master" is set as "Required" in the “Set Inventory Process Parameters” activity of the “Logistics Common Master” business component.
The system displays the following details in the “Record Statistics” group box:
Created By |
The name of the user who defined the details of the warehouse. |
Created Date |
The date on which the warehouse details were defined. |
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the details of the warehouse. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the warehouse details were last modified. |
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Create Zone Information” link at the bottom of the page to add zones for the warehouse for which the storage type is “Normal”.
Select the “Edit Zone Information” link at the bottom of the page to modify the existing details of zones attached to the warehouse, of type “Normal”.
Select the “ Map Warehouse- User” link at the bottom of the page, to associate the selected warehouse to multiple users.
Select the “Edit Transactions Allowed” link at the bottom of the page to specify the transactions allowed in the warehouse.
Select the “Edit Part Types Allowed” link at the bottom of the page to specify the part types that can be stored in the warehouse.
Select the “Edit Warehouse - Stock Status / Condition Allowed” link at the bottom of the page to specify the stock statuses / component conditions that are allowed in the warehouse.
Select the “Edit References” link at the bottom of the page to specify the reference document details attached to the warehouse.
Select the “Edit Interim Storage Area/ Associated Warehouse” link at the bottom of the page to specify the interim storage area.
Select the “Set Warehouse Process Parameters” link to define process parameters for the new warehouse.
Modifying Warehouse Information – An overview
You can modify the details that are already defined for the warehouse in this page. A warehouse can be inactivated only when the zones and bins associated to it do not contain any stock. When the warehouse is inactivated, all the zones and bins defined under the warehouse automatically get inactivated.
Details of the warehouse such as the status, description, storage type, the warehouse in-charge of the warehouse, and address details can be modified. The system updates the details of the warehouse and stores the name of the user who modified the warehouse information and the date on which the details are modified.

Define warehouses of different storage type
You can define the warehouse of “Normal” or “Free” storage type. The warehouse with “Normal” storage type can be further divided into zones and bins for storing a variety of parts. This type of warehouse helps to store the parts in a structured manner, which also helps in traceability of parts. The parts can be stored in bulk in the warehouse if the storage type is “Free”.
Set the “Storage Type” drop-down list box to “Normal” to define the warehouse of type “Normal”.

Define warehouses of different storage type
You can define the warehouse of “Normal” or “Free” storage type. The warehouse with “Normal” storage type can be further divided into zones and bins for storing a variety of parts. Specify the status of the warehouse
You can specify whether the warehouse is in “Active” or “Inactive” status.
Set the “Status” field to “Active”, to indicate that the warehouse can be referred in other activities.
Set the “Status” field to “Inactive”, if you wish to disable the warehouse from future reference in other activities.
Modify the capacity of the stock
You can modify the capacity constraints of the stock to be stored in the warehouse.
Set the “Capacity Constraint” field to “ Volume”, if the capacity of part is to be stored in volume.
Set the “Capacity Constraint” field to “Weight”, if the capacity of part is to be stored in weight.
Set the “Capacity Constraint” field to “Quantity, if the capacity of part is to be stored in quantity.
Set the “Capacity Constraint” field to “Not Applicable”, if the warehouse is of type “Normal".
Define warehouse as “Allow Reservation/ Hard Allocation”
You can specify the warehouse as “Allow Reservation / Hard Allocation”, for considering the parts in the warehouse for reservation and hard allocation.
Check the “Allow Reservation/ Hard Allocationt” field for considering the parts in the warehouse for reservation and hard allocation.
