Processing new part/ part attribute change request
This page allows you to select a part number suggested by EO and create the new part based on it. Tell me more.
Select the “Process New Part/ Part Attribute Change Request” link under the “Part Administration” business component.
The “Process New Part/ Part Attribute Change Request” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for details of new part requirements or part attribute change request :
Source Document Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of document, through which the creation of the new part has been requested. The system lists the options “Engineering Order” and “New Part Request”. “New Part Request” is displayed by default. If “Engineering Order” is selected, the system disables the “Reject Request” and “Close Request” pushbutton. If “New Part Request” is selected, the system disables the “Create Parts based on EO” pushbutton. Based on the Source Document Type selected, the fields in the multiline vary. |
Source Document # |
The number identifying the source document that requested for the creation of the new part (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the source document number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the source document numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
Requesting Org. Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to select the organization unit, which has requested for the creation of the new part. The system lists all organizational units in which engineering orders and part administration can be raised. |
Request Type
|
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of request, which could be “New Part” or “Part Attribute Change”. The system leaves the field blank by default. If the Source Document Type is set as “Engineering Order”, the system displays “Not Applicable” by default. |
Part # |
The number identifying the part for which the new part is to be created. |
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the part, under which the new part is to be created. The drop-down list box displays the following: “Raw Material”, “Component”, “Tool”, “Consumable”, “Expendable”, “Miscellaneous” and “Kit”. The system retrieves those new part requests for the part type that you select here. |
Request Status
|
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the new part/ attribute change request document, which can be “Confirmed” or “In-Progress”. The system leaves the field blank by default. If the Source Document Type is set as “Engineering Order”, the system displays “Not Applicable” by default. |
Request Category
|
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the new part/ attribute change request document. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes defined for the quick code type “Request Category” in the “Create Quick Code” activity. The system retrieves those new part requests under the category that you select here. |
Requested By Emp. |
The employee who has requesting the new part/ attribute change. |
Priority |
Use the drop-down list box to select the priority of the new part/ attribute change request document. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes defined for the quick code type “Request Priority” in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. The system retrieves those new part requests with the priority that you select here. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user-defined status for the new part/ attribute change request document. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes defined for the quick code type “User Status” in the “Create Quick Code” activity. The system retrieves those new part requests with the user status that you select here. |
Note: Leave all the fields blank, if you want to retrieve all the new part requirement requests raised by the “Engineering Order” business component. The system retrieves only those requests that are raised by EOs in “Fresh” status.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the search results.
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline based on the search criteria entered:

Requesting Org Unit |
The organization unit, which has requested the creation of the new part number. |
Note: Ensure at least on row is selected in the multiline.
Click the “Create Parts based on EO” pushbutton, to automatically create the new part numbers, as suggested in the engineering order.
The part numbers suggested in the engineering order are created in the system. Also, the system copies the account group associated to the previous part, if the “Account Group In Part Master” option is set as “Allowed” in the “Set Options” activity of the “Account Group” business component.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark a part number to view the requirement details.
Click the “Reject Request” pushbutton to reject the request process.
The system ensures that the “Comments” field is entered.
The system updates the status of the request as ‘”Rejected”.
Click the “Close Request” pushbutton to close the request process.
The system ensures that the “Comments” field is entered.
The system updates the status of the request as “Closed”.

Select the “Create Parts Information” link at the bottom of the page to create parts information.
Select the “View EO New Part Record Request” link at the bottom of the page to view the requirements raised by EO for the selected part.

Select the “Create Part Type/ Part Control Type Conversion” link at the bottom of the page to create a part type or part control type document.
Select the “View New Part/ Part Attribute Change Request” link at the bottom of the page to view the new part details/ part attribute change request.
Select the “Maintain Alternate Part Details” link at the bottom of the page to update the alternate part numbers of the selected part.
Select the “Edit Parts Information” link at the bottom of the page to modify the part details.
Processing new part requirement – An overview
The part number can be created automatically. The information available for the suggested part number will be updated to the newly created part number.
This page allows you to search and select the suggested part number for creating the new part number. The search results are based on the type of the source document, the number identifying the source document, the type of the part and the organization unit, which requested for the creation of the new part. You can also view the details of the engineering order from where the request for creation was received. Help facility is available to select the engineering order.

Process and create new parts requested by EO
You can select the part request raised by the EO and create the new parts. You can search for the part request by specifying the source document details in the search criteria. The system fetches the request details in the multiline and you can create the parts requested or reject the request.
Enter the source document details in the “Search Criteria” group box.
The system lists the search results in the multiline.
Click the “Create Parts” pushbutton to create the parts listed in the multiline.
